I do not have a spare key.
SPEAKER_01No, you don't, do you? I forgot about that. That was good.
SPEAKER_04Because of all that ordeal with the key fob thing and all that. I I was really mad about that. But no, I gotta go back over there. Take it back over there and get a another key fob made. I only have one. Kind of nerve-wracking. Sorry.
SPEAKER_00That's one thing I don't lose is my car keys. I've lost a lot of shit. My wallet or my car keys.
SPEAKER_04I keep my wallet and car keys. I'll lose my phone before I leave.
SPEAKER_01I lose my wallet quite fucking frequently. But the cool thing I'm having this watch now is I can just when I lose my phone. Yeah, you can find it. Fuck. That's kick ass. Like, wake up in the morning, can't find it, you know. I'm in a rush. I just do that and then boom, boom, boom. My recliner.
SPEAKER_00You need to advise everything. Like you need to find everything.
SPEAKER_01I do. I do, I do. Make it disadjusted, so I guess.
SPEAKER_00You just set it down. You can't leave it in your pocket. I take everything out of my pockets whenever I get into a vehicle. Everything.
SPEAKER_04That has always bothered me. You've always done that. You get in the truck and empty your pockets into the center console.
SPEAKER_0095% of the time he calls you the next day, he's like, hey man, did I leave my wallet in here?
SPEAKER_04Oh, I can't tell you how many times I've taken his keys home and he can't go anywhere. I gotta go all the way to his house. They keep his keys back.
SPEAKER_01Well the thing is, is I just hate ha like when I'm sitting down like that, I hate having stuff in my pocket. Like, like I I I I don't know. A sensory thing. I don't know. I don't like it. I put like the same.
SPEAKER_00Well, where are your shorts or something? I don't know what to do. I just don't fucking like it. Do you do it during the winter, even when you're wearing pants? Uh I don't feel like you do it as much.
SPEAKER_01Not as much, no. So it's probably just shorts. But like I don't like sitting down with a wallet in my back pocket. I mean, I that bothers me. I don't like set like if I'm wearing like jeans, I don't like sitting down with a phone in my pocket, or or you know, if it's just like a can of zins, I'm okay. But if it's like keys, zens, you know, whatever, and yeah, wall no, I don't want to do that.
SPEAKER_04I I I get wearing shorts. Like, I don't like a lot of stuff in my pocket when I'm wearing shorts, but I just don't take it with me most of the time. Like I carry a lot of stuff with me whenever I'm wearing pants.
SPEAKER_01The only time I dump shit out of my pocket is just keys, wallet, and phone and can't zen.
SPEAKER_00So your normal keys have like a lot of keys on it, or just a house key. Yeah, it's got to be a key. So what you do is just got a bunch of key chains on it. Yeah, and two keys. You gotta keep it set. Like the one, uh your daily carrier as far as your keys. I mean, like house key, I got the post office, and then I got work key. Like wherever I'm going to work on a regular basis. And then I got my key fob. No keychain. No, no. That way, whenever it's in my pocket, it's nice and simple.
SPEAKER_01I've got three keychains on it. I'll leave my house key. My key fob, my key, my my key to get in here, and yeah. Oh. Yeah, but you got like four or five keychains. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You just take all that off, then maybe you won't take them out of your pocket so much.
SPEAKER_01Maybe not, but I mean, I kind of like I don't know, he took those out of his pocket pretty quickly.
SPEAKER_00I mean, there is nothing on this. I mean, this came maybe it's just a habit for you, but yeah. I have a a big keychain that has like shop, lodge, all the you know, gates and stuff, locks. They'll stay in a truck. Yeah, they'll just stay in the truck, yeah. Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Because I don't carry that around. I even whenever I unlock the shop or I unlock the lodge, I walk back to my truck, I put them back in the truck. Yeah. Because I don't want to walk around with them in my pocket. Because it's just like a cluster of the stuff.
SPEAKER_04I got mine on the uh were y'all ever part of it. It was cool to have yeah, I think we all did this. The big long layers. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah. So I still have the same one. That's what my big key rings still clipped on. Oh, really? Like, same one I had in high school.
SPEAKER_01I think I had a Costa one in high school.
SPEAKER_04Uh I don't really remember what's on mine.
SPEAKER_01It was like something like that, yeah. Oh! Speaking of sunglasses brands, I think I really want to get a pair of the meta sunglasses.
SPEAKER_00Uh I had them for a duck season. Then I stopped using them after duck season for a while because I wasn't filming anything. And I could have sent them in and get them fixed, but some reason the speaker in them stopped working.
SPEAKER_04But it still records video.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but it I can't tell because it doesn't tell you, like, oh, started recording. So I couldn't tell. I can't see anything blinking or anything. Like, I don't know if they're acting funny. But they're they are pretty cool. And the newer ones have even better quality. Like, get the newer version, has a better quality video, and I think it does some other stuff too.
SPEAKER_01I think it'd be cool to just have like wearing out, like hanging out with all the friends and stuff, and just randomly just go boom. Nope. And I'd just be spying on motherfuckers.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and you're gonna somebody's gonna walk up to you like, what's that blinking light on your face? Oh, it blinks. Yeah, because it's well, and you if you cover it up, it won't record. Some of our spying on people. Well, like I meant more like taking like pictures, you know, just going like it'll blink whenever you were. Jackson wants to go to the beach where click. Oh my god. It was weird because like I'd be in the blind and nobody knew that's what they were. And I was but he would also take phone calls and stuff. So I just hit the button and I'd take phone calls, so I'd just start talking, and they were all like looking at me like I was crazy. Is he talking to us? And then you know I'd hang up or whatever, and I was like, oh no, it's it's just my glasses, you know, they're the metal ones. Oh, they're like, oh, we just thought you were fucking talking to yourself or something. Like our guides crazy. They really stuck us with the winner of this group. Oh goodness. So they are pretty nice for that, but you will get some weird looks. Because they look like like legit sunglasses. They're a little bit bigger on the face, yeah. Because they have to fit all that stuff in the face. Yeah, just the frames are boxier, they're gonna be fatter and stuff. But other than that, it look like normal sunglasses.
SPEAKER_01Well, I mean, now that my face has gotten fatter, maybe maybe they would look okay. They probably look great on you. Appreciate that a lot. Appreciate that a ton, actually.
SPEAKER_00I need to send mine in.
SPEAKER_01It would it would be cool, just get like they were fun.
SPEAKER_00Like, and then also like I would do like live streams, and instead of it going through the camera on my phone, you can live streaming. And it would it would stream it through the glasses, so wherever I was walking around doing whatever, I didn't have to hold my phone. As long as I had connection with my phone to the glasses, the camera was a glass. That's pretty cool. I didn't know you'd do that. So, like whenever we were getting ready for season, I mean I guess it was maybe it was last year, I guess it's whenever I had them. But like I was going around like opening pipes and you know telling everybody what I was doing, I could just leave the phone and it was just showing everybody's comments and stuff, but it was showing what I was actually doing out there. That's pretty hands-free.
SPEAKER_01I I give up on the internet here. I I genuinely fucking do.
SPEAKER_00It may be a stuggard problem or a fiber optic or something.
SPEAKER_04If you wasn't such an iPad kid, it wouldn't bother you that much.
SPEAKER_01Like I mean, there shouldn't it shouldn't be a problem. There is literally barely anybody in the building. Like, as far as workers and stuff.
SPEAKER_00What are you looking for? I will say though, the camera on the now there is oakly ones, but they're like big, fat, yeah, sports. I looked them up, but the camera is centered up in the oakly ones. Yeah, right in the center, yeah. So whenever you're shooting a gun and you're trying to get filming shooting, since it's offset and it's not offset to the right the right side, it's offset to the left side. So it looks like you're aiming way over here, just from perspective point of the case. Then this duck just falls whenever you I mean people can tell, like, oh yeah, he's hit that duck, but it doesn't look like you're aiming at that duck.
SPEAKER_04They should offer like which side you want the camera. Yeah, you can get a left side or a right side. That'd be a pretty good uh case in case anyone's listening.
SPEAKER_00Um anybody listening to us meta.
SPEAKER_04Meta. Hey, you never know.
SPEAKER_00Actually, I thought that to myself. This was the craziest thing ever. Me and Brandon were talking about this. So I did a new update on all my editing software for video, and they have implemented an AI tool. You know how I did the masking and everything? There's an AI tool for it now to make it so much easier. I'm like, please watch me on TikTok and say because I literally their their tutorial is like putting an image inside of a cup. Yeah. Or like inside a and I'm like, what the fuck? Like, please don't mind it. Like, but I mean at least everybody can do it a little bit easier and stuff. AI is learning every time you do something.
SPEAKER_01So we got to attend the uh Arkansas Waterfowl Hall of Fame this past weekend. Pretty good time. Pretty good time. Twas.
SPEAKER_04Twas indeed.
SPEAKER_00Did you learn anything from it or just how many beers you could drink out of the bank?
SPEAKER_01I I dude, I actually didn't have that much to drink there. I didn't either. I I really didn't. I ate a lot of fish. The fish was really good.
SPEAKER_04Like, I didn't really drink a lot until I got back.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I didn't. Which we everybody out there listening, we had a sober driver, so I mean we didn't. We didn't. That's the only reason we went. We weren't gonna go if we did not have a sober driver.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, that was my plan. I wasn't even gonna go because my wife was out of town. And then I conned everybody else in the go, and that way I had a sober driver.
SPEAKER_01Yep, that's actually exactly what the fuck happened, yeah. So we had uh the ductees, we had uh Dell Bumpers, uh, Dell Bumpers, and we also had David Snow Snowden Sr. and Jr. And then we also had Frank Lyon Jr. and the one and only Brent Birch, too.
SPEAKER_00So they all got inducted into the Hall of Fame.
SPEAKER_01It was what it was it was what I went to earlier this year, I think. That out at the Arkansas Museum Grand Prix. Yeah, the Arkansas Waterfellers Hall of Fame, sorry.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. But that's not what we went to. We went to the Arkansas Game of Fish Foundation. Oh shit. Good. Um, so this was if y'all remember Matt that was on the previous episode to this one. Good friend of ours from Little Rock area. Uh he is on the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation, and these are the types of events that he helps organize to raise money for the Arkansas Game Wardens and the Arkansas Game and Fish. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So it's for the yeah, it's uh a lot of it, uh it it was it was a really cool banquet. They have it every year. Fuck with my equipment. Fuck. Hello, hello! Don't touch Jesus Christ. Yeah, but it's a banquet that they have every year, it's the Arkansas Game of Fish Commission Foundation. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I thought it was really good. And then they raised money for the dogs.
SPEAKER_00Well, so like uh I got so confused. I did Troy Fawn that we have on the podcast a lot. He has a canine now. Have we had him on here since he got the canine? No. We haven't. We need to get him back on here before the season really kicks off and ask him like we really do. Yeah, he told me some of the things that that dog can do. Y'all ain't gonna get away with shit if you're trying to do something that's that dog is gonna catch you in the act for sure.
SPEAKER_04The the very I think it was the very first call he got after he got the dog was a poacher uh during turkey season. Yep. And what he told me that I mean, hit the dog trail and he tracked everywhere that man walked. He found the shell case found the shells and the shotgun stuck underneath a log. Um and then he asked the guy, he said, So is that about the same trail you walked? He goes, That dog nailed it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's pretty crazy. So they brought them up, they brought Troy and some of the other, I can't remember their names, but there's there's what, three other people that have canines. There's three of those. That's who they had there. There might be more. There might be more teams. Uh but they brought all their canines up there. And they started this auction. I thought they were auctioning off one of the dogs. I got so confused because I wasn't listening, probably because I was gibber jabbbering. But no, they were, you know, they they were they were auctioning off basically a donation. Yeah, you know, which is all you know, tax deductible for you know big organizations and businesses or whatever else, even small family business. Or to or to yourself if you wanted to uh do that. That'd be great. Uh so you know, but they also had auctions where you were actually buying stuff. Yeah. Like uh they have like silent auctions and stuff, which they do all online. You don't even have to be there to auction or bid. No, you don't. Uh I wish we actually would have uh did Matt talk about that before? No, he just talked about like some of the events that he helps with. He didn't really go into detail about any one event.
SPEAKER_01I was about to say because I because uh other than like the kids' events, especially sounds like and it's definitely the the foundation is separate from the AGFC. Now granted it's it's still brother and sister, but it is a separate organization completely, but they they focus a lot more to my understanding on just the Well I mean yeah, you the game wardens are busy out there policing. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00They don't have time to organize events, so they had to come up with a organization to organize events, basically.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Shit. Yeah, we just had somebody on here talk about all this, and here I am just rambling.
SPEAKER_04We we could have him back here in the next few days. I mean, he I'm sure he'd be back.
SPEAKER_01So I mean his club's literally right down the road from Colton's house, pretty much, and not far from mine.
SPEAKER_00So I mean we should probably give him more of our time because I think we jabbered too much. We definitely did. Our bad, our bad Matt. I know you like that.
SPEAKER_04Kind of just threw him into that mix.
SPEAKER_00My B dog.
SPEAKER_04My B. My B.
SPEAKER_00Roubtu's always I was trying to remember some of the highlights, but they they went into a lot of details about like some d different projects. And then uh Sarah Huckby's husband came on and was really talking about the same thing that Matt was telling us on the episode that they're big about like put the iPads down, get outdoors. Yeah. And even her husband was saying the same thing. And I've seen Sarah Huckby on the news talking about that same thing too, which I think is great for our community. So there was some key moments in there, but I also drink a lot of beer, so I I don't remember every little key moment, my bad. There's a dog. Did you eat any of the fish? I didn't eat any of the fish.
SPEAKER_04I did bite it. I didn't realize they gave a piece of chicken. I I thought it was fish. I was like, this is kind of weird-looking piece of fish. I took a bite. I was like, that's not fish.
SPEAKER_01Uh yeah, so that was uh John 316. Yeah. They they were the ones who cooked, so yeah, it was really good.
SPEAKER_00You know, that is actually probably one of the coolest organizations we have as Arkansans to solve that issue. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Uh yeah, I mean, I think it's I think it's a really good thing that they do up there. And I mean, and they give back in the community in every way possible that they can. I I think they do.
SPEAKER_00If I understand it right, it's like if you're having problems with drugs or anything like that. Yeah. And but you have to be willing to go in there and you want to change. Yeah. So then they welcome these guys in. And it w I don't know if it's certain age groups.
SPEAKER_01Is it like all age groups or it's uh it's it's mo you have to be an adult, I'm pretty sure. Okay. Yeah, and and it's both men and women. Yeah, it's not just just men, it's but it I think the sister chapter is like John 3.17 or something.
SPEAKER_04For the women, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, my Uncle Todd would know. Or maybe it's all the same now. I don't I don't I'm not really sure. It's like a like a basically I've been there a few times uh because uh my uncle was in it and you know, and it completely turned his life around. Yeah. I I think for the absolute better, and I mean like what they do is they like you go through this program and it's all faith-based, obviously, with John 316. John 316, the Bible verse, yeah. So um it's all faith-based, and they they they do a lot of uh what's the ch charity work, maybe is the word I'm looking for. Yeah. And they and they give back to not just one community, they give back to all communities all across our community, all across our Kansas, all across Arkansas. All across Arkansas.
SPEAKER_04A lot of community work and volunteer work.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And then they have like in like like here in town in Stuckhart, we have or or in Arkansas County, pardon, we have Arm 180, Arm 180, which is a branch off of John 316. Up in Northwest Arkansas, uh, they have Micah, the Micah chapter. They they call them their like chapters or whatever, kind of like uh yeah.
SPEAKER_00So it's pretty yeah. Well, and to go further with it, what I know a lot about is is that like anytime we do like uh the snow goose conservation competition, uh the the dough cool that they do at everybody's little camps around here, we never got too much dough population. So they will put them all in the freezer trailers, uh the geese, the deer, you know, yada yada, whatever wants to be donated. Uh, you can probably even donate your own deer. Yeah, maybe. I don't know exactly how that works, so don't quote me on that. But I know there's a lot of different drives that they do that collect meat and they take it up there, all the men there, they clean the animals, they process it, and then they donate it to like food drives and stuff like that. Arkansas feeding the hungry, yeah. I think it's partnered with them. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01They're partnered with them, and that's that's what they do is do it all through, which is actually a really cool thing. I I I think it helps out a lot of families, but like you were saying, you have to be willing to go there in order to even get in.
SPEAKER_00Because I think the what they're doing though is they're it's not just a it's not just a prison cell or whatever. They're no, no, no. They're preaching to them, they're giving them something to feel good about, you know, like giving back to the community, and I think that's the reason why they're doing so much change up there. So I think it's an awesome, yeah, awesome thing.
SPEAKER_01So like yeah, you speak on that too. So um like uh there's another country over in Europe somewhere, maybe Netherlands, Sweden, or something like that. So there's like their prisons. I I'd seen this pop up one day on YouTube and I had to watch it, but like their prisons have like a 90 something percent uh do not repeat uh offenders coming back because while they're there, like their cells are like little studio apartments, and they like get treated like actual human beings and everything else, and like it's actually like you know, they try to help you do stuff to do better and everything, which I think's really cool. And I mean it's more like a rehab more than it is uh uh a sentence.
SPEAKER_00But I think there's also probably programs like that in Art Gills for people that want to change, but there's also people that don't want to change, so you can't count out of those people if they don't want to change.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely, I agree, yeah. But I mean, yeah, there's uh I think they're doing good. I I think it's a really cool thing that they do, you know. Uh obviously, I mean it's faith-based, which is awesome. I think I think we can all agree on that, but you know. And that that's another thing, is like you don't pay when you go there. You you don't pay anything. That's why you have to be they have to see that you're willing to go, because you're not paying like other rehabs, like you're paying thousands and thousands of dollars for that. And with this one, that the only way that they make their money is through donations. So yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's pretty cool. It's pretty cool. I and I yeah, I'm sorry to get off on that and not say anybody needs it, but if you ever want to help a really good organization, yeah, donate to the to donate to Arkansas Feeding Hungry, which is in partnership with John 316 and all that. Because I I do support what they're doing. I think that's pretty awesome.
SPEAKER_01So or if you know somebody out there that needs help and if somebody does need help, absolutely that'd be that'd be a good place to start, I think.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, hey uh listeners, thank you all for tuning back in. We haven't done our intro yet. I'm a little late on it. We got we got a little on a spiel. Uh Trey sitting over here just looking like, what the where did this kind of conversation go? Well, it led into it. But uh uh thank you all for tuning back in. We're glad to be back in here with y'all. Uh, like always, you know, hit that like button, the subscribe button, follow us on Instagram, uh, keep up with us on Buzz Sprout, iTunes, Spotify. That's where all you can listen completely free. Yep. Well, we post these every Sunday, so you can listen with us on Monday because we are those guys that drink beer on Monday and we call ourselves Monday beers. Not Monday.
SPEAKER_01That one wasn't bad.
SPEAKER_04Well, I didn't enjoy it too much. Oh, you finally shaved your chin.
SPEAKER_01Maddie don't don't like it. That's why I never shave it, but it really gets on my nerves. So I shaved it.
SPEAKER_00I think you should clean shave. Like with a razor, it'd probably come back thicker.
SPEAKER_01It won't.
SPEAKER_00Maybe, maybe not.
SPEAKER_01Never, it never does. Never does. Oh my.
SPEAKER_00What's gonna be? Well, we got uh Dove Season coming in Saturday. Yeah, I mean by the time everybody's listening to this, it would have already been opening day of well, opening weekend of dove season.
SPEAKER_01One billion doves. If anybody asks, that's what I'm telling them. One billion. Billion. With a B. Yeah, with a B. I think I'd give a shit. I'll be out there. It's gonna sound like fucking World War II. Do you have to have a plug?
SPEAKER_00Yes, you have to have plug.
SPEAKER_01No, you don't have to have a plug.
SPEAKER_03You're good, Colton. Don't worry about it. Just take it out.
SPEAKER_01No, you definitely have to have your plug in, yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01And your hip. You gotta have your hip.
SPEAKER_04You gotta have your hip. Don't forget your hip.
SPEAKER_00Don't worry, I got all my stuff. Yep.
SPEAKER_01Ah shit, I gotta get my hip.
SPEAKER_00What does hip stand for?
SPEAKER_01Hunter. Hunter in progress? Hunting in progress? I don't know.
SPEAKER_04Oh, it's like it's just an information program. Like you it's the questionnaire that you answer on how many you oh gotcha. You kill every year, yeah. Hunter. It's just like a survey, I think.
SPEAKER_00I'm trying to think about words that would be survey related, but yeah.
SPEAKER_04Hunter information. Harvest information information. Harvest information, that's what it is. Yeah. I knew I I knew it was information.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that'd be the harvest information program. That's how uh we all keep up with all of our stuff. As long as you don't lie, that would be great. Thank you. Very much.
SPEAKER_00I don't like the numbers on there. I think they should give more options.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they should.
SPEAKER_00I mean, what is it like 20 or more on the high end?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, or 50 or more or something like that. You can do like that better count. There's like zero, there's like one to ten.
SPEAKER_00It really gives some good information.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they do.
SPEAKER_00Like, I don't know. I think some because I've heard people go, well, yeah, you know, zero, zero, zero. I'm like, don't fucking say that shit. Like, we need to know like how many people we're selling license to and how much you're shooting.
SPEAKER_01I mean, there's a whole reason that we have biologists and stuff come in that your tax dollars are paying for in some way or another.
SPEAKER_04You're paying for it, might as well give them good information to work with.
SPEAKER_01Exactly.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, just it's not, it's not, it's not a gotcha, it's a help you.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. I mean, it's not like anybody's trying to be like, oh, yeah. Now, yeah, if you go on there and you say you killed, you know, five turkeys or something, yeah. No. Gotcha, motherfucker. You know what I mean? Yeah, gotcha ass, cuz. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Don't don't don't put down that you killed over your limit. Uh Jesus Christ. Put yourself up in the crosshairs.
SPEAKER_00If you say you only hunted one day ducks and then you say, oh, I killed 50 or more, then yeah, you may have got you on that one.
SPEAKER_04Do they ask how many days you hunted?
SPEAKER_00Uh maybe. I really can't remember.
SPEAKER_01I can't remember it. I'm gonna have I'll fill mine out tonight.
SPEAKER_04Uh, because it's one of those, like you fill it out like as you're filling it out, like it's one of those things I don't keep I don't keep the numbers. So I'm giving my best guess.
SPEAKER_01Um and I think that they know that's why. That that's what it is, your best guess, mate, because most people don't keep up with it. Like, did you even go hunting? If you didn't, no, then obviously you didn't kill any birds, you know. Or if you did, okay, did you kill one to twenty ducks? Did you kill twenty one to fifty ducks? Did you kill fifty-one plus? Yeah, it's kind of one of those things, I think, you know. Because I mean, like, hell, I can go like last year. I don't know if I killed 20 ducks total. I I might have, like, right at 20.
unknownReally?
SPEAKER_01I dude, I didn't even duck hunt really last year. I basically just spec hunted last year. That was pretty much I think I went on. Speaking of specs. Who?
SPEAKER_04How about duck hunts? How about the stamp button belly?
SPEAKER_00That was pretty cool. Yeah. I forgot about that.
SPEAKER_04I thought Clay bought the uh print that was on the silent auction. I was kind of bit on it once and then I forgot about it.
SPEAKER_01How much did it end up going for? Maddie was wanting me to buy it, and I told her no.
SPEAKER_04Not as much as I thought it was going to.
SPEAKER_00I thought it was like two grand, though. No, it wasn't?
SPEAKER_04No. The print that was on the silent auction in there?
SPEAKER_00It was sitting up on stage?
SPEAKER_04No, not up on stage.
SPEAKER_00Oh, the real one up on stage.
SPEAKER_04No, yeah, not the real one. It went out. No, they had a print. I forget. There was something else. It was like a print of it and then something else below it.
SPEAKER_00But it was pretty cool. Am I right? Brent Birch inspired that, but somebody else painted it. Is that right?
SPEAKER_01Uh so where it was at was uh there at G Ridge, I believe, where their farms at. Where they hunt it, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Where him and his dad hunt it.
SPEAKER_04Yes, yes, correct.
SPEAKER_00Okay, all right. But then it was re- So he didn't even he he it just was at his location, inspired from his location, and then somebody else painted it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because yeah, because they hit I think I belie if I mean Might have to delete this out of the I don't know if because uh I mean I'm sure it's public knowledge, but maybe not. But like I think they have a or his dad's in a lease over there, or Brent's dad is like uh Yeah, he's been on it for a long time. Or yeah, or he's in a club or something over there, or something, and yeah, but for like a long time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we talked about it on the podcast whenever it was on it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I can't I can't remember, but yeah, that's so they hunt there sometimes, but then you know, like Brent's got the place right down the road from my house, too. Yeah, yeah. So I mean, yeah. But that's Brent's and uh some other people that are in that club.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was pretty cool. They had the grain bins in the background and stuff.
SPEAKER_04I like it. That might have been what was underneath the picture, was like the statement of how it came. Oh, okay. That Clay got. I think that's why Clay wanted it.
SPEAKER_01I got you.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, because uh so for a fair place over there in Hummin Oak.
SPEAKER_01Right. So to put this in everybody's brain, just paint you a picture of it. Every year when you're coming into town, say from Litterock, at least, if some of y'all are flying in or driving down and you're coming to Stuckart, you're gonna go right past these uh grain bins that that this uh duck stamp was. Like you're gonna come right past them. And if you're coming from uh north, they'll be on your left.
SPEAKER_00It would be uh, it would probably be the last big section of flooded fields that you'll see with loaded up with birds before you get to Stuttgart. Yeah. Because once you get past that, it goes into little valleys and timber, and then the fields on the other side aren't really flooded next to the highway. Right. And then you're in Stuttgart.
SPEAKER_01Right. Through that, I I've always thought this my whole life and been kind of told this my whole life. If there ain't birds in G Ridge, then we ain't got birds, kind of thing. Because I mean they're always there all year long, no matter what. Whether it's it's it's some type of waterfowls here, yeah. Kind of thing. And if they're still there, they're still around, kind of kind of deal. I mean, but children out there, and I'm sure everybody knows who's drove through this, knows what I'm talking about, the right little spot. It's not a community, it's not even really a community, it's just called G Ridge.
SPEAKER_00I mean Well, isn't it Brummet right there?
SPEAKER_01Uh yeah, Brummet.
SPEAKER_00G Ridge, Brummet. Uh closest to Stockton.
SPEAKER_04G Ridge, Brum. No. G Ridge. It's Humanoak.
SPEAKER_00I think it's Brummet, then G Ridge. Then Stuggard.
SPEAKER_04Oh, it's Brummet, Brummet, Right. From here, Brummet, Humanoak, G Ridge. No. No, G Ridge, Humanoak. What?
SPEAKER_00Humnook is on Humnoak's on the farth side of the Right. Why don't we know this? Humnook's definitely on the far side.
SPEAKER_04It's on yeah, it's on the other side of G Ridge. Yeah, it's Brummet, G Ridge, Humanoak. That's it. Coming from Stuttgart.
SPEAKER_00Actually, it might be G Ridge. Brummet Right.
SPEAKER_04No, Brummet, then G Ridge.
SPEAKER_00It might be.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's Brummet then G Ridge. I know that for sure. Hell, it don't even pop up on the maps. I mean, kind of thing. You know what I mean? Yeah, well, it does it G Ridge.
SPEAKER_00So it's Stuckart, Brummet, G Ridge. G Ridge is not a town. No, no, no, no. The reason why G Ridge has its name is back when they were logging this area, they had different ridges that they were keeping all their equipment and they were like high spots. So whenever it'd flood or whatever, or they had pads where it'd stay drier up there to bring all the logs to, and then logging trucks would take them out, or yada yada yada. So there was A, B, C, D, E, F, G ridges, you know, from north to south, and that's G Ridge. That's where they were collecting logs. That's pretty cool. I did not know that. Yeah. Was that in Brent's book? Brent talked about it on the podcast. You listened to this whole thing. Okay, to be fair, it's been like four, three, four years ago. I mean, but that kind of stuff, that kind of stuff sticks with me because I love like history, like learning.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, it's really cool. And I mean, anybody out there listening, I mean, i if you ever want to get a good book for history, definitely duck hunting history here in uh on the Grand Prairie, definitely uh get uh Prince Park. What's what's the name of a tree? The Grand Prairie.
SPEAKER_00The Grand Prairie is the Grand Prairie.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I've got one. Uh I I still flip through it. Yeah, it's a cool book.
SPEAKER_01Randomly. And he's a good guy too. I've known him for a long time. He he's a really good, nice guy.
SPEAKER_00But well, he's another one of those that's uh He has his own podcast too.
SPEAKER_01I forget about that. Yeah, he does it's called The Sportsman's Podcast.
SPEAKER_00And he's another one of those, me and uh and I think maybe we should get involved into it. But he me and Griffin were talking about, and I think he kind of started because you know how he texts all of us and he gets our input. Yeah. And it's always the young guys that is texting in a group and gets our input. So he's really big on like us. Now we're not we're we're young in a sense that they're older than us. Yeah. But he wants, you know, like the college age people and you know, younger life people just having kids, getting married, you know, those people have a voice. Because sometimes you just get the older generation that has a voice. And he they've actually organized some other organizations in Arkansas where it's like I think it's like I can't remember the age group that Griffin was telling me where it starts at. It's probably like college age, and then you get cut off at 32, but you can go to these monthly meetings.
SPEAKER_01Arkansas Outdoor Society. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Uh Arod's actually the president of that right now. So he would be really good to have to talk about that and get some insight on the Arkansas Outdoor Society.
SPEAKER_00But there's I think that's awesome because you you create a place where we we always talk about like the younger guys coming in. All right, well, let's go a monthly formal kind of sit down, you know, hang out, have a beer or whatever, right, eat some food. But then but you're surrounded by other guys at your age-minded people, yeah. That may know this detail that you don't know, or that person might know this detail that you don't know, and then you learn things before you actually go out there and get in the field and stuff like that. Right.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I mean the the the membership fees aren't terrible. I think it's like uh I think for a couple it's 150 bucks because I think me and Maddie are about to get it. Uh just you know, I mean, even if we don't uh for the Arkansas Outdoor Society.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah, I'll be I mean it.
SPEAKER_01How much was the single membership? I really don't remember. I think for me and for for a couple it's 150. So it's not terrible. And I mean it's a donation too, obviously. But yeah.
SPEAKER_04I mean, so actually come to think of it, I think that was supposed to come with a hat. I need to talk to A-Rod.
SPEAKER_01Or talk to Matt, one of the two, you know. Because I think Matt might have been the Matt might have been the president before A-Rod. Maybe so.
SPEAKER_00I'd be lying if I'm not. I know Griffin told me that A-Rod was the new president, and I think Griffin's maybe VP or something. Possibly. Or maybe Treasury, I don't know. Something like that. So anyways.
SPEAKER_04Arkansas Waterfowl Stamp Rant. Sunrise Specs over G-Ridge. Mike Marlar painted it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and it looks kind of like a drone shot, and there's two specs just like that's pretty awesome. Yeah, pretty cool. I think it's pretty cool to have specs on there to grow the appreciation for specs. Oh, yes. It's kind of in the grand scheme of things, it's a new thing for us. I feel like they've been taken advantage of a little bit. So I'm glad that they kind of bounced off of it a little bit. A lot of people there's this mixed emotions.
SPEAKER_04I c I could I could go on a rant on the other.
SPEAKER_00There's a mixed emotions about like, well, the limit's not too high, but also if since the limit's low, now we got a lot of p big party hunting going on. I think we have talked about party hunting on here before and it got pretty Well there there's yeah, well there's also a a very shadowed line of party hunting and what that means, but i I mean it's pretty makes sense to me. But uh I mean, but I I glad we have appreciations for specs because in reality right now, uh with the weather and the climate being the way that it is, and ducks being ducks are not, in my opinion, they may be a little bit less population, but they're they're just just it's just the weather, in my opinion. So so we need something to lean on. Well everybody's leaning on specs, so we need to show appreciation and and know how to uh conserve those guys.
SPEAKER_02Oh, definitely, definitely.
SPEAKER_04How about the uh uh whistler duck, uh the Mexican tree duck, whatever they're actually called. Not in Arkansas, in Louisiana they did.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So if y'all listen, if anyone watches Jimbo's Monday, so he's actually going on a hunt. He talked about it last night.
SPEAKER_00And I wouldn't be surprised if they opened one on us, though, because caught last Monday's only catch last night's.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, this was last night he talked about it.
SPEAKER_00Because I'm pretty sure we can shoot them here, but there's no season on them. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Well, it's a really gray area.
SPEAKER_00That's a gray area, yeah. There's there's no I wouldn't be surprised if we don't have one soon.
SPEAKER_04Um with the amount that we have, it wouldn't surprise me.
SPEAKER_00Now, like when would when would our season be though? Because right now they all got little youngins.
SPEAKER_04Well, so I think I think Louisiana's is October, maybe? Yeah, I could see that. October, early November. They're still around.
SPEAKER_01So kind of like an earthly spec kind of thing. Yeah. Um yeah, Canada the Goose just came in today.
SPEAKER_04But so are they I forget, it always runs through the same time as dubs. Here in Arkansas, too? The early one? Here in Arkansas, yeah. Um I knew there was some. But are they gonna stick around? I'm kind of curious to see if they stick around here. I didn't see many stick around, which we didn't have as many last summer, I think, as we have this summer.
SPEAKER_01This summer, they them some bitches have been everywhere around here.
SPEAKER_00You know, SCTV. They are a very friendly duck. And whenever I say that, they uh whenever whenever my ducks were in the pen, yeah, the my pet mallards that I got, I know probably people have seen videos that are like, oh, these pen raising ducks. No, they're pet ducks, they're just from a pond, they're not going anywhere. But uh, they would fly and land next to the pen and they would walk over the pen and like just like what trying to help them get out. They're like, what is this? They're like, why the fuck y'all want you? Like, what the hell y'all doing? So then I finally started letting them out, and they stay. You know, ducks they'll they'll fly a little circles. My mallards will fly a little circles around the pond, but they stay on the pond. They don't go nowhere. They're always looking for food, they're probably pissed off right now. I'm not home feeding them. But uh the first few days I let them out, finally the whistling ducks saw them out. And two of them, like they were all the mallards, are facing one way, and these two whistling ducks just come and landed right behind them. I mean like a foot away from them. And them freaking mallards freaked out. I mean, they jumped fucking five feet up and then went back down, they turned around and they're all talking to each other and stuff. And so now every you know, every evening there'll be like one or two come land next to it, talk to them for a little bit, and then the whistling duck will go off, do his thing. Mallards just stay sitting there.
SPEAKER_04They come by and hang out with the uh farm ducks. Oh, really? Yeah, that's pretty cool. Just around on the pond, which they like they're they like manicured areas. Oh, yeah, yeah. They love my pond. So if you have a pond that's you keep mowed around the edge, like that's where they want to hang out on the golf course.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so they very rarely even here at RT, we normally have some here and there's some here.
SPEAKER_00I've very rarely seen them land in the water. They usually always land in the grass. Yeah, and then they just kind of walk the water's edge, kind of like a crane or something.
SPEAKER_01Pretty much, yeah. But uh no, what I was gonna say, it's my uh my buddy Garrett's up in uh Alberta right now hunting, and he's been sending me videos all day. Or like this morning, and then A just sent me some more them hunting, and I was just like, fuck. Already shooting ducks, already shooting geese. I was just like, damn, man, that's pretty cool. Get our little September 2nd or 1st. First, first, September. September 1st.
SPEAKER_04We're a little we're we're a day behind our recording. Tuesday. Well, already already threw it out there by talking about it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but we got one, two, three, we got three more days, and then we can go shoot something. Some dudes.
SPEAKER_01Two more days of work. Foam sleeps.
SPEAKER_00Fo mostly. Friday, I think we should ride around out there. You gotta kind of get our game plan.
SPEAKER_01Do you know what we need to do Friday? 100% that I meant to ask you to help me with last Saturday until I had to do some free labor for uh Johnny.
SPEAKER_00This sounds like free labor for me. That's what it's called. 100% fucking is.
SPEAKER_01It does and it is. Uh I need to put my new uh headlight bulb in my ride.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Because I keep on forgetting that it's out. Well, I never drive at night. I I never drive my ride. I mean, I What do you need headlights for? Well, because just to be, you know, legal. I mean, mostly. That's a bigger reason why. Because I mean, just in case, like if it's a foggy morning or something, you know, I don't want to have one headlight. And I mean, I don't want to be brightening the shit out of people.
SPEAKER_04But I noticed it was out and I was like, does it I don't know about I don't know about those rides. I bet they're paying. I know my truck would be.
SPEAKER_01He had a 2013.
SPEAKER_04So I mean I was like, yeah, most trucks you gotta take a well whole front end off the grill.
SPEAKER_00You can either do it that way or you gotta have a really skinny hand and squeeze your hand in the back. You did it last time, didn't you, Coke?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he cut his wrist last time for it. Fuck yeah, man, it's out again. Fuck yeah. I forgot. I guess we did put it in last time. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00My old, it would the headlights would go out all the time. I don't know what it was. Maybe it's a headlamp, moisture or something, but man, it pissed me off. I got so tired of taking the whole front end off, I figured out how to squeeze down in there and do it without taking it apart.
SPEAKER_04Because I mean, yeah, you gotta take fifteen bolts out, unclip everything. Looks like you got an erect time you get done taking it apart, just to replace a headlight.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you gotta take the grill out.
SPEAKER_04Grill out, the bumper cap.
SPEAKER_01And the damnedest thing is I didn't even get the most expensive headlight. It was $30 fucking dollars. Just for the bulb. Damn.
SPEAKER_00They used to be like $10.
SPEAKER_01Just for the bulb.
SPEAKER_00Back in the day.
SPEAKER_01The high-end one was $40, and the one right below, I got a $30 one. The one right below was $25. I was like, shit.
SPEAKER_04I guess I get right there in the middle. I mean, hell. I put brakes on the Yoda. That is the easiest. Really? I mean, changing brakes is isn't hard, anyways. Yes. But like, you don't have to take anything out. I took the wheel off, you pull like two pins, and then you squeeze, like, I took a pair of channel locks and squeezed the calipers open. Like it's got dual calipers, so it pushes for. Both sides. Oh. And you just squeeze them open, pull the pads out, slide the new ones in, put the two pins in, and put your wheel back on.
SPEAKER_00Shit, that's awesome. Pins?
SPEAKER_04It took me an hour and a half.
SPEAKER_00So no bolts. Them fucking bolts that always fucking seize up.
SPEAKER_04So the bolts that hold it on, you don't take the caliper all the way off. You just pull the pins that hold the brake pads in. And then slide it down. It was awesome. I was like, this is pretty far. Takes you like 30 minutes for each side.
SPEAKER_01I got I gotta put some on Maddie's ride.
SPEAKER_00Really?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I don't know how that's right.
SPEAKER_04You know dealership do that for you.
SPEAKER_00Or go over there to the go Scotty. Cheap.
SPEAKER_02I don't know if he does brakes. Does he do brakes? Really.
SPEAKER_00He'll do anything under anything under. I didn't know I know he did anything.
SPEAKER_01I just hope for all the four foreign cars you take them to the Slovak here in town.
SPEAKER_00It's worth a try to go by there and see what he says. Yeah. The pool lot.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00He won't say much. He'll just tell you what time to be there and how much it'll be. Oh, yeah, 100%. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But honestly, I love people like that. Just like just be here at that time. Really? So you can fix it? Well, I just told you to be here at this time.
SPEAKER_03I can do it Wednesday morning or Wednesday afternoon. I'll drop it off Wednesday morning. Sounds good. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, yeah. Works out good. Oh, what was that guy's name down there? Ronald White. Wasn't that his name? Down there headed to Thomas' parents' house. Uh uh. Torch for Crockets Bluff almost. Was that his name? I don't know. I've never remembered that. Was it Ronald White? I don't know. He used to have a shot there. Did he pass away or maybe not? This is gonna sound so bad. He's not, he can't be that old.
SPEAKER_00What do you think? He's like Scotty's age?
SPEAKER_01Probably older.
unknownProbably.
SPEAKER_00Scotty's probably the same age as my dad. Maybe a little bit younger, a hair younger. Maybe his daughter was about our age.
SPEAKER_01His daughter's a year younger than me.
SPEAKER_00So maybe a hair younger.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, today at work, uh or yesterday, we we learned that Scotty Scheffler is right in between me and Colton both. Colton's uh coming up on a pretty big milestone.
SPEAKER_04We don't have to talking about age.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Well, it's not a milestone.
SPEAKER_04I'm about to say 30 was a milestone.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 30 was a milestone.
SPEAKER_00The whole 30s all feel the same, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_04Feels like 20s with experience.
SPEAKER_00I mean, if I were turning 35, then I'd be on the upper side of 30. But I'm only turning 33. Asshole.
SPEAKER_0132.
SPEAKER_0033.
SPEAKER_04You'll be 32.
SPEAKER_00No, I'll be 33.
SPEAKER_04Are you really? I think he knows how old he's gonna be.
SPEAKER_00What year were you born? 93.
SPEAKER_04Fuck. I like how you just had to prove that you're right.
SPEAKER_00I thought he would be 32.
SPEAKER_01Shit. Alright. How old am I?
SPEAKER_00How old am I? You're 27.
SPEAKER_01No. 28. Charlie's 27. I don't know y'all around. You'll be 28 in December. That's right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I don't keep up with that shit though. I really don't either. I'm terrible with birthdays.
SPEAKER_01I say I don't, I do. I'll be keeping I don't keep up with birthdays, but I keep up with uh how old you are. I think I'm gonna get one of them. Dude, me too. Fuck yeah, me too. Oh yeah. Dude, those things just slide the new the new Mega Duck that we're coming out. Dude, it's so good.
SPEAKER_00It'd already be gone. It's dropping tomorrow, so it'll be gone by the time they hear this. Oh yeah, it'll be gone.
SPEAKER_01It's fucking nice.
SPEAKER_04Just think of think about like our younger years, how much of it revolved around Mountain Dews.
SPEAKER_00Oh shit. Most of mine. I think there's only 50 of them, too.
SPEAKER_04It was like the only thing to drink at Colton's house. Yeah. If it wasn't if it wasn't beer. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like that might be why I look like I'm 35 instead of all the mountain dews.
SPEAKER_01I'm not gonna lie. I remember one day I figured out this concoction. When I mean by concoction, it was the white mountain dew. Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_00And they made a white mountain dew.
SPEAKER_04They made like every color.
SPEAKER_00I think the white dew, it would turn my stomach around. I never liked the flavor.
SPEAKER_01White monster, maybe. Yeah, it was white monster with Evan Williams. That sounds terrible. Dude, it fucked. It was so good.
SPEAKER_00It just sounds like a fucking.
SPEAKER_04I think that was me and Griffin that got on the uh white monster with like the cherry biker or something. I can't believe that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but you also would drink half a fucking Jaeger bottle.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I at that time. Jaeger. Oh my god. That shit was like it still is good. I just don't drink that stuff anymore. I don't I don't like it.
SPEAKER_00Honestly, no, you didn't drink that much because I remember that bottle was in my fridge for or freezer for like It was a half gallon bottle. Yeah, but it was in there for like two years. You just every time you were out there, you would take a big old shot of it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I just took a shot of it. It wasn't like I was.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you weren't drinking half a bottle.
SPEAKER_01At a time. No, no, no. I was just like taking a swig every time I came over.
SPEAKER_00You know what I mean? That is one thing. We had snacks.
SPEAKER_01Soda pops. Well, not very many snacks.
SPEAKER_00We have Mountain Dew. Yeah, and Mountain Dew and then uh If you wanted water, fucking SOL. Good days. Bread. We would always have bread. Bread.
SPEAKER_01Did have bread. Did have bread. If you were hungry, you needed to go need to go across the field and go catch you a fish and come back and cook it. I mean, it was one of those deals. Sometimes we fucking did.
SPEAKER_00I mean, hell. Honestly, bro, he'd still be like that. I mean, Lauren left me all weekend. I was I was just finding random shit in the freezer. Freezer to cook. I was just cooking up some old tenderized deer steaks and shit.
SPEAKER_01Matty's got me on this health kick on cooking. I've been grilling like damn near literally every night. And if I'm not grilling, I'm doing like a protein bowl basically at the house. I'm just doing rice, vegetables, and uh burger meat. And then I'll do some uh like after it's all done, I'll do like Japanese barbecue sauce over it. Oh man, it's so good. Or if you want to do even like regular barbecue sauce or something, it's good too. But I've just been doing the Japanese barbecue sauce.
SPEAKER_00Kind of like a little bit of uh hibachi.
SPEAKER_01Kinda, but it's not at all. I'm just doing like literally just some rice from the store, just boiling it, cooking it, doing that. Last night I did the veggies in the air fryer. Yeah, did it work out? Yeah, and it was a lot, a lot less. Not that it ever is a mess to clean up, but I'm just wasting less tinful now because I don't like to put them on the actual tray because I don't want to have to like fucking try to peel them off or fucking nothing, you know. Not having to waste tinful for everybody out there who likes to wear tinful hats. I know I I do sometimes. Trey probably does, he's not in here right now. Um and then just just hamburger meat. Always season season it with the Cotham's, cottoms, whatever there in Litterock. Yeah. That that Max, we've had him on here before. His uh parents have that place, and best burger seasoning, in my opinion. That touch of garlic powder, Kinder's.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Kinder's pretty good.
SPEAKER_01Kinder's the blend and uh the Kinder's all-meat seasoning, all purpose.
SPEAKER_00I use a lot of Kinder's seasoning for like my steaks and little deer steaks and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_01Dude, so her dad, Maddie's dad, gave us some Kinder seasoning, and the smell is terrible, in my opinion. But it tastes good. Oh my god, it tastes amazing. It's the dry steak.
SPEAKER_00Oh. Oh, yeah. Well, yeah, it probably is gonna taste it.
SPEAKER_01Oh man, it tastes amazing, but it does not smell.
SPEAKER_00The only one I don't like to me. The only one I don't like is the buttery one. Buttery steakhouse? I will hit you. Buttery steak house. Buttery steakhouse is the best. But it's too buttery to me, I feel like. Really? Yeah, I don't know. I put that on step. It's because it's like artificial butter flavoring.
SPEAKER_01You had it on my uh you've had it over at my house, I know. Oh, I get it all the time.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. You know what it's really freaking good on?
SPEAKER_01Look, that's what I always put it on. So I know you got it on it.
SPEAKER_00I just use like the uh steak blend or the the blend. The the blend. The blend, I put that on everyone. It literally did.
SPEAKER_04It's kind of hard to beat uh like Chicago steak seasoning. I like Chicago, it's got a lot of garlic in it.
SPEAKER_01I I have that at my house that whenever her little brother came down with his college buddies to stay for the weekend and go hunt by Amita. They had cooked steaks and stuff, and they had left their seasonings there, and one of them was Chicago steak, and I was like, I never tried it. And we I I tried it on some steaks one night. I was like, it was pretty good. I basically just thought it was uh what's the McCormick, or not the McCormick one, but there's another one out there that Montreal. But it basically just tasted like Montreal to me, it did. And I was just like, yeah, I mean it's good, but like which I mean the blend's probably just like Montreal too at the same time. But I mean, hell. I'm a big Kenders guy. I've learned that. I I like I I know it's a little bit pricier, but really it's not. Because you get it in a bigger bottle.
SPEAKER_00I'm sure there's pr might be better stuff, but it's readily available. Yeah. It's a pretty big brand, and it's still good.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you can get it right there at the grocery store when you're still.
SPEAKER_00We're not saying that there's not anything better. We're just saying.
SPEAKER_01Well, we what I use anyways, yeah. I mean, like the blend I put it on, literally damn it. That uh there's another one too. Oh, the garlic butter? It's pretty solid. Or the cowboy butter, cowboy uh butter chili or whatever it is.
SPEAKER_00Oh no, I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Or cowboy Dijon. I have seen the cowboy butter or some shit like that. It's pretty good too. Uh I got some I got some lemon pepper one for some wings one night. Turned out, or not wings, but uh chicken thighs turned out really good.
SPEAKER_00So it doesn't really feel like it, but this is the second day of September. That was the first day.
SPEAKER_04It's the first day of September.
SPEAKER_00Is it really? Yeah. Isn't it the first? Maybe tomorrow is the second. No, today's the first. Today's the first. First day of September. Fuck man. September's always my favorite month of the year.
SPEAKER_01It's the first of the birds. Because your birthday or what?
SPEAKER_00Well, maybe originally it was because of my birthday, but then it was I don't know, it's like the first sight of fall. Cutting cutting, harvesting. I mean, everybody around us is harvesting. I don't know if you can tell it in my voice, but all the dust is getting to me. But uh you just know that something else is coming. I mean, migration has started. Seasons. You know, you got early kind of season stuff, you know, early teal season, got early Canada season, honker season, and then you got dove season. Dove season. So you can finally shoot some stuff. I don't know. Harvest time around here.
SPEAKER_01November. November's kind of.
SPEAKER_00I mean, well, yeah, but i I I kind of like the lead up, like just the intipation. I get that.
SPEAKER_04September's when it all starts coming into play. You've got harvest. Like harvest just it's always seemed like an electric thing. Football season starting.
SPEAKER_00Well, it is because everybody is well, yeah, we have football.
SPEAKER_04Football starts again.
SPEAKER_01Last year, dove season opener, it felt amazing.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, we had a we had a big rain come in, unfortunately. It's gonna be hot. It's gonna be hot as well. It's gonna be dry as shit and hot, which is probably gonna be good for the doves though.
SPEAKER_01Sure, yeah, but it's gonna fucking suck something.
SPEAKER_00You better get your little clip-on fan.
SPEAKER_01I guess so, shit, man. Because I'm gonna tell you, I'm gonna be out there and be like, I'm gonna look at everybody in the start.
SPEAKER_00Get you some of them uh cool rags, you know? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04We could just get some kitty pools, fill them up.
SPEAKER_00That's actually fucking good.
SPEAKER_04Brilliant.
SPEAKER_00That's brilliant. Damn.
SPEAKER_01I like it. I like the idea. I like it. I like the idea. I don't see why not. Okay. Where are we gonna fill these kitty pools up at, though?
SPEAKER_04I have a water tank. That you can put in the back of the truck. Let's do it.
SPEAKER_00Let's do it! We put it right on the bank of the uh side. How about it? Don't ask questions. You don't want to get away.
SPEAKER_01Boy. Well, I know what I'm doing Saturday now for damn sure.
SPEAKER_04Hey. Cooler, turtle box, kiddie pool, shotgun.
SPEAKER_00Mosquito spray.
SPEAKER_04You're in you're in water. They won't bite you in the water. Yeah, they will.
SPEAKER_00You're not fully submerged.
SPEAKER_04Oh, that's true. Wear a shirt. I don't see. We're not we're not shirts and skins out here. I'm in a pool though.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we're gonna be able to do that. But you're not fully submerged. You're gonna have a bright blue swimming pool. What the hell does it matter if you got camouflage on? Sorry.
SPEAKER_04We've had worse ideas.
SPEAKER_00Oh, but fucking far. I mean, you could just sit in the reservoir. That water's gonna be hot though. Ow, ow, ow, ow.
SPEAKER_04Water in that kiddie pool is gonna get pretty warm, too.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah, pretty bad.
SPEAKER_04Ice chunk.
SPEAKER_01This isn't a problem. I think it is the solution.
SPEAKER_04This might be coming to the colour.
SPEAKER_00Well, it's about that time. Hey guys, I'm hungry. We hope that y'all had, since y'all are gonna be listening to this on the Monday after dove season opening. Or Sunday. Probably Monday. Yeah, they'll probably listen on Monday. I mean, I would say.
SPEAKER_01A little bit Monday's Labor Day, so yeah, probably Monday.
SPEAKER_00Oh, they might listen on Tuesday. Yeah. So we hope y'all had a great Labor Day weekend. And if you went dove hunting, hope everything went fun and safely. And if you're doing it again next weekend, make sure you don't do it all right. Be safe about it. You know?
SPEAKER_01Follow the rules.
SPEAKER_00Enjoy it. That's right. Has it come back around? We we trust y'all. Y'all, y'all, our listeners, y'all are good folk. Y'all are good folk. So thank y'all for listening in with us. And who wants to close this out with a toast?
