On this week’s episode of Monday Beers Podcast the guys completely go off the rails, bouncing from one topic to the next with zero warning.
What starts as a normal conversation quickly turns into a mix of hunting stories, random takes, questionable opinions, and whatever else comes to mind. No structure, no filter, just the kind of back-and-forth that happens when the mics are rolling and the beers are cold.
It’s unpredictable, it’s all over the place, and it’s exactly what you’d expect. Crack one open and hang on. 🍻
I'm about to tell you how to make them even fucking better. Put sugar in it. Fat ass. No, man.
SPEAKER_02You put it on top of your frosted flakes.
SPEAKER_05Dude, my d I I thought it was the craziest thing. My dad used to do it.
SPEAKER_07Isn't the isn't the frosted sugar? Yes. Yeah. So you just make it okay. Sugary. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. I really like but dad used to do it with frosted flakes with uh a little bit of sugar on there, put it in the milk. Oh dude, even like you I I never drink milk out of a bowl after I've done with cereal, but that fuck you want to. Kind of like it's almost sweet. It's really sweet.
SPEAKER_02You know what I like almost better than frosted flakes? Honey bunches of oats. Those are pretty good.
SPEAKER_05Those are pretty good, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Cinnamon toast crunch.
SPEAKER_05Cinnamon toast crunch is good. I I I still think frosted flakes is better. Yeah. Frosted flakes excake.
SPEAKER_07You know what I feel like's overhyped? What? Uh fruity pebbles.
SPEAKER_05Oh, they get so soggy, so that's a terrible scene. Yeah, yeah. But I mean, like, frosted flakes will too. I mean, yeah. I like them when they get soggy. See, I don't.
SPEAKER_07I gotta have a little bit of crunch in my cereal.
SPEAKER_02I like like I used to eat Wheaties and pour sugar over top of them. Whatever I didn't have frosted flakes.
SPEAKER_05Wheaties? I like Wheaties, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Or that or brand flakes, whatever you want to call them.
SPEAKER_05What's uh Cheerios are solid. Have you ever had the honey nootch, honey nooks?
SPEAKER_02Have you ever had the multi-grain ones?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_05Oh, they're fine. Oh, yeah. Oh, 100%. Yes. Ones with the extra fiber in them. Yeah. Yeah. Big smack. I'm not a big cereal eater though in our. Well, Maddie likes it, but we never eat it at the house or anything. I don't really either. Another one that's really overrated, my dad used to eat it all the time, Fruit Loops.
SPEAKER_02Fruit loops are. They're okay.
SPEAKER_05They're okay. They don't stand toe-to-toe with everything else that we mentioned.
SPEAKER_07Captain Crunch is solid. It just cuts your mouth down. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. I mean, like getting to like little flips.
SPEAKER_07Like chewing razor blades.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, like the little balls, those are good.
SPEAKER_02What I got burnt out on was paws.
SPEAKER_05You like the what? Yeah. Paws. You know, the colorful ones. You like the grease's puff. The dark one.
SPEAKER_06Grease's puff. That's a good call. That was my favorite for a long time until I did frosted flakes with uh sugar. A lot of sugar on them. That was a good thing.
SPEAKER_02I have done it before, but I can't say that I haven't. What I got burnt out on as a kid was apple jacks. I love apple jacks, but God, I've that's all my mother used to buy.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So that's all I got to eat.
SPEAKER_05Well, I remember always being over at Nano's grandfather's, they always had like the old people stuff, and actually pretty good. Like the frosted mini wheat sometimes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That mini wheat. I really fuck with those. Those are pretty exciting.
SPEAKER_06Well, Tony's a tiger frosted flag. Yes, yeah. They're great. Yeah. And then there was what was didn't Reese's Puff have one?
SPEAKER_05Reese's Puff. Reese's Puff. But a chocolate thing. No, you're thinking of the bunny rabbit from Tricks for Kids. Here's another one that's not all that good. Or the uh Lucky Charms.
SPEAKER_06Actually, you gotta let it get soggy.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Lucky charms are best straight out of the box. No milk added.
SPEAKER_04Okay. It's a powdery for me. Yes. Yeah, that they are better that way. I'll agree. I agree. I mean.
SPEAKER_02No, it's really good too. That you don't really see that much. Honey smacks. Get the little honeycomb ones? No, no, no, no, no. The honeycombs are good. Yeah. Honey smacks.
SPEAKER_05What is honey smacks?
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, I know it holds here.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Those are good.
SPEAKER_06Isn't there one that was like uh Rice Krispy? Like little pieces. Rice Krispies. Yeah, rice crispy. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I pour sugar on those and those are fired. That's good. But it's not called that, is it?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, Rice Krispies. It's just like the little rice crispies. Rice Krispies. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, there's Rice Krispies. What was the uh other one? That they always had the all the Keebler elf, that's cookies. Um fuck.
SPEAKER_02That's Rice Krispies is the little bitty. You're talking about the little bitty guys or whatever?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah, yeah. Was that DM? Yeah, okay. Okay. Huh.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Those are honey smacks. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I remember those all the time. Came out after the cereal. That's honey smacks.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Marshmallow blend.
SPEAKER_07Anyway, I'd like to talk to you a little bit about diabetes.
SPEAKER_03We're all sitting here saying, yeah. If you put some sugar on it, more sugar, more sugar. Yeah, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah, that's it. Those are pretty good with sugar on top. Yes, absolutely. We're all just put sugar on it. I can't do as much sugar on it. I couldn't, I can't do as much sugar as you said. But I used to, I remember like pouring so much sugar on there, it would all fall to the bottom of the bowl, but then all I had left was sugar and milk. You're like scooping the sugar up off the bottom.
SPEAKER_05Yes. That's bad. What are you having cereal with your sugar?
SPEAKER_07Yes, I am. Your mom let you do that because you were going to school. She didn't have to deal with you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, eat all that sugar. Bye.
SPEAKER_05You know, we never we never really uh did cereal breakfast in my house. Like I never one time seen anybody in my household eat cereal Johnny eat cereal for breakfast. Other than him, I never did.
SPEAKER_02Mom likes to eat it for dinner.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, my dad always used to eat it like after dinner is like a late night snack. Yeah. Yeah. Put it in a cup is how he always did it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Mine was definitely more like a weekend thing or a snack. That's how mine was.
SPEAKER_05Like I always had like a little multigrain ball. I never woke up for breakfast.
SPEAKER_02I never woke up early enough to eat cereal before school.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, exactly. Me either, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Actually, I took that back. Whenever I was I was at public school over towards Hot Springs, I had to ride the bus to school and I would sit there and eat my cereal before I got on the bus. Really? What school did you go to? Glenrose.
SPEAKER_07Glenrose, it's some of my fondest memories were sitting there eating a bowl of cereal, reading the back of the box.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. In the morning. Yeah. That's probably when they actually put something cool on the box.
SPEAKER_07It was cool, so I I'd check them out every now and then.
SPEAKER_05I guarantee you you opened the box as soon as it came home, so your brothers couldn't get into it first. Couldn't get the toy.
SPEAKER_07I was baby brother. I got there was I don't remember them being toys in the cereal box. Oh really? I remember. I remember. Maybe I never got into it first.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Well, the first thing I toys went for in Cracker Jacks was a little toy or the little paper thing that came in it. That's the first thing.
SPEAKER_06Do they still have happy meals at it? Like true happy meals at McDonald's, like with toys. Yeah. Yeah. They're like weird toys. We had some toys I remember when I was young. They were like collector series. Yeah. Everybody tried to get every single one. Oh no.
SPEAKER_02Some of them were actually worth fucking money. That's the crazy thing. Did y'all not see uh I don't know, several months ago, whenever they came out with the socks? You remember that? Yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06They put socks in your happy mill. So it was the Grinch.
SPEAKER_05That just kind of does seem you got a Grinch mill. Yeah, it was the Grinch Happy Meal.
SPEAKER_07And they had like different colored socks. I wear them sometimes.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. You fucking got some. Yeah. Shit, man. I wanted the Grinch mill. You want to sell them for five bucks? They'll probably be worth more than that. Sure. Not with me wearing them, though. Let me see. Hold on, cuz. They don't yet. That BL sucks.
SPEAKER_07Hold on. I might. How much are they worth slightly used?
SPEAKER_05I mean, I didn't think there's four pairs for$53.
SPEAKER_02Damn. That's ridiculous. I mean, you get your money back pretty much on what you spent on the box.
SPEAKER_05$25.50. So I guess however much you really want. What color do you got? Uh I think I got a red pair and a blue pair. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_07All right. Hey.
SPEAKER_05Hey, we're kind of working. We're kind of working on something. I mean, I would say you could modestly get uh, you know, 30 bucks or so. Oh, this motherfucker got round ended.$1.50. Ooh. Maybe they're not worth all that much.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I think I'll just keep wearing them. I need socks more than I need$1.50.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, Christmas is a long ways away because I'm holding on to them. Yeah, there's some things that live on eBay for a really long time. And there's a reason why.
SPEAKER_05That's true. That's true.
SPEAKER_06Too proud of price.
SPEAKER_05I like uh baseball cards. I really want to get back into collecting those. I have no idea what happened to my uh stuff after we moved out of dad's house. Don't have a clue. I used to have like binders full of baseball cards and Pokemon cards, and now that all that stuff is hot now, especially Pokemon, I don't really care about that.
SPEAKER_06Is it like pack draw or something? Yeah, it's like huge on trading and buying and like you can only like they an entity will own a card and then you can invest in the card. So you own it with a group of people, and then you can sell out of your investment.
SPEAKER_02Like there's probably like a hundred thousand dollar Charizard card in there just sitting there and hanging out.
SPEAKER_05Probably. Probably. That'd be my luck. Honestly God, I I have no idea. And it really breaks my heart because I like I was super into it as a kid, you know, and so I collected like everything. Like I had a ton of baseball cards. Like there's I only have one baseball card left. And I looked it up. Mom found it. Yeah. Like, I can't remember where it was. It was somewhere fucking crazy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_05And uh like a year or so ago, she sent me a picture. She was like, Hey, you been looking for this? I was like, Oh my god. It's it was like it's like a replica Mickey Mantle card.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_05And I looked it up and it was worth 250 bucks. I I think I gave like 10 bucks for it when I was a little kid. It was like something I spent my little my money on kind of thing, you know.
SPEAKER_02It's an expensive hobby if you get into it. Oh, most definitely. Like I got into ripping Pokemon cards. I had to I had to cut myself off. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Like I got into those Funko Pops for a little bit.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, those are another.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, and like I have some that are yeah, like, yeah, there's some in here too, yeah. Like there's money in them, but like, you know, you gotta get the right one for it to be worth it. Like what I actually did, we were walking around the first time I ever bought one, we were walking around Vegas. Me and Michael were, and we just happened to walk into this uh little shop store uh in in uh Planet Hollywood, and I was like, Funko, holy shit. I invested in that company, like stock like right, right, kind of like right as at their IPO almost. And I like made decent money off of it, so I was like, fuck it. I'm gonna I'm gonna buy a couple, I think I bought you one, the little Rocket one or whatever.
SPEAKER_02Uh Star Lord.
SPEAKER_05Star Lord, yeah, Chris Pratt, yeah. Yeah. I bought uh and I bought a couple others, and like, yeah, I was kind of like, man, it's kind of cool. So I kind of got into it for a while, but it's an expensive hobby.
SPEAKER_02Like 15, 20 bucks a pop.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, and uh well then they were only like 10 or so, but like now they're definitely 15 bucks a pop. But fucking you gotta think of storage. There's really no good way to store them. Like one of my dresser drawers at the house.
SPEAKER_02They make boxes for them full of it. They make boxes like clear boxes for them.
SPEAKER_05No, yeah, I know. I know. I'm just saying, like, I just have all the ones that I kept still in a drawer and it's completely fucking full.
SPEAKER_02Just be glad you don't have a Lego addiction. Legos?
SPEAKER_05Legos, man, like grown men, which is cool. I mean, have your hobby or whatever. Yeah, there is, there is.
SPEAKER_02I mean, like, don't some bitches spend money. I personally like them. Like, I would love to have them. I'm not putting them together though. I don't have the patience.
unknownYeah, no.
SPEAKER_02Same here.
SPEAKER_05Like, they look like I'll be scrolling through TikTok and somebody will be like, man, look at this shit I built. And I'm like, that's pretty dope. Yeah, I would have it if somebody else built it for me. I'm with Thomas on that. I don't have the fucking patience.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_05Do you have something to say, Let's go?
SPEAKER_07No, I'm just listening. Hey, I do like Legos though.
SPEAKER_06Do you? Yeah. You could collect golf balls. That's what cars. You could, yeah. Everywhere we went, we had a golf ball from somewhere.
SPEAKER_05I mean, no, that's that's actually pretty crazy.
SPEAKER_02Or like old, like quarters and shit like that. You know, people get into collecting currency.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. I th I when I was a little kid, I had uh, you know those pamphlets with a quarter from each state? Yeah, pamphlets, old books. My book. Yeah. I think uh my grandparents got me. I think I think it might have been Johnny's parents that got it for me.
SPEAKER_06I've got one filled up. I'm just more of like collecting history or historic artifacts, like older duck hunting stuff or just old stuff.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but like I guess I never realized until got into collecting the duck calls. Like how many different things there are to collect, and like everyone's got something they collect something of.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and it's normally never cheap. Right.
SPEAKER_05Like Michael's collection, Michael's collection is very like he has one shelf.
SPEAKER_02Collecting whiskey.
SPEAKER_05Now he does collect whiskey and bourbon too, but like his uh the his main one that he's been on is duck calls, and like the most things he's been chasing is everybody from Arkansas County. Yeah. Trying to get and if they're a really good call, well-known callmaker, he's trying to get one from surrounding counties kind of thing. But I think he might have finished up this last uh callmaker social on his Arkansas counties.
SPEAKER_02Oh, hell yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I I I think so. And then he's got another shelf that has like RT and then like uh, you know, other callmakers, and then on one shelf he had Jesus Christ, son. And on one shelf he has uh just straight old school like flying duck ones. The old that slanted in Richanton. So pretty cool. I mean, there yeah, but I mean there's a lot that goes into fucking collecting but like you just said, Trey, everybody has a niche kind of collector pocket.
SPEAKER_02I know somebody that used to collect whiskey or bourbon, whatever you want to call it, and he's like, Yeah, if my kid ever goes to college, he said, they're his his fund for it.
SPEAKER_07So I don't understand how people do that. They don't sit on my shelf that long. Yeah. Right just stares into my soul.
SPEAKER_05I remember uh man, I I was staying at mom and Michael's house, uh, this was like two years ago or so. I was still living with them, I guess. And damn I came around a quarter corner hot. I'd had a I mean, I wasn't drunk or nothing, but I had a couple and like right where his whiskey cabinet is sorry guys, I was a rod. Uh where his uh whiskey cabinet is, it was like right next to the couch, so it was kinda hard. Y'all had been over there, it was kinda hard to get through there. I was coming in a little hot because I forgot shit on the grill and I accidentally bumped the uh stand, the the cabinet, and one of the bottles on the top shelf fell off. Thank god it wasn't a super expensive one. Did it shatter? It did not shatter. Oh, okay, but the top of it, the lid, the seal was broke. So he was like, Well, there you go. It's all yours. I was like, fuck, man. I was like, I'm so sorry.
SPEAKER_02You should have told him, like, damn, is that all I had to do to get one of these bottles?
SPEAKER_05Well, uh, he used to, he used to give uh after Shelby quit drinking and stuff, he used to give us both a bottle of whiskey for our birthdays, like a memorable one kind of like the first time we started doing it, he gave me like a uh it was Blanton's with my it was like August 5th of some year, something like with our birthday on it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_06Pretty cool. No, if I see something I ain't never seen before and I know it's old, I'm trying to figure out how to buy it.
SPEAKER_05Okay, here's one thing that I really want to find. I don't really ever recall finding one, an arrowhead.
SPEAKER_07Oh, really? Yeah, man.
SPEAKER_05And every time I'm walking like a crankbake or something, I'm like eyes to the ground staring down trying to find one.
SPEAKER_02I don't know if I said it on here before, but I got a buddy that down in uh Monticello area, Dumas. He fill walks.
SPEAKER_05Oh, Garrett?
SPEAKER_02No, no, no, no. Uh Yanni, Mono Dragon. Oh, okay. Dude finds them all the time. Yes, all the time.
SPEAKER_05See, like Garrett, he'll send me at least once a month. He's found one.
SPEAKER_06You're way better off uh but now so there's hot spots too. Closer to rivers. Fields that do better than others, but you're better off walking on uh like dist up ground. Or if people have been doing a whole bunch of dirt work on a levee or something. Walk that dirt work. Yeah. That's where you're gonna find them when the dirt gets stirred up.
SPEAKER_07And so if you think about it, like things like arrowheads. So I know a guy that went to the same field all the time, would find arrowheads all the time, and then he quit finding them right after they did dirt work and they'd moved they were at a different side of the field. Like the dirt work had moved it all to that side of the field. Well then he'd quit finding them on that side of the field, went back to the original side, and started finding arrowheads left and right. And it's just like so rocks and fields they work their way to the surface. It's like like the earth pushing them out. And so arrowheads are doing the same thing too. So every time a farmer turns over a field, it may produce more arrowheads.
SPEAKER_02This is well, it's kind of kind of related, but not really, it's not an arrowhead. You remember whenever he found that band?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02He uh I think I think we've told this story before, but he said he was got out smoking a cigarette and he was checking one of his pieces of equipment that he was pulling behind in the field. He just looked down and saw something shiny on his band.
SPEAKER_05That's luck right there, man. That's like luckier than ever going out and killing one by far. I mean, that's like stupid luck. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's pretty cool though. He's like, well, he's like not saying that I don't I don't really condone smoking cigarettes, but he's like, help me that day, I guess.
SPEAKER_04God bless.
SPEAKER_07I'm more of a if you look around this room, like if I walked in somewhere and saw those paddles for sale, yeah, you're like, oh, I need that, I need them. Yeah. For the simple fact of like you can hang them up somewhere, they look really cool.
SPEAKER_05Right, right. Like that old gun right there, like, fuck yeah. That shit looks dope. Like the little bass sign, love that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah. I well, I love this call room. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, like I mean, everybody who comes in here, this is like one of the biggest attractions at RT, other than the big uh stained glass right there. Yeah. And you look around in here, and you just like every little piece in here is like original and something different.
SPEAKER_07I love that. Yeah. Well, the stained glass is just iconic. I mean, it's been there. Like, I remember when I was a kid coming up here and taking lessons from Butch. I remember that stained glass.
SPEAKER_05It's pretty dope. Pretty dope.
SPEAKER_07Pretty dope. Pretty cool. So what hey. You want to do the introduction?
SPEAKER_06Or the guys. Glad to have y'all back tuned in. Yeah, all right, but yeah, I'm good. I'm just like I'm just I'm just I'm just chilling tonight. Yeah. I'm letting y'all do all the talking tonight. Uh that's a lot more editing for you. We're glad to be back in here. Uh actually, uh, we're not doing this on Monday because we enjoyed uh May 4th. We had a little Star Wars night at the uh tap room this week. Everybody just had a good time up there up front. So we're doing this a little bit later in the week, but we're glad to be back in here. SPEAKER_05Monday Blues that type of day isn't it?
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_07Well it's I'll put it too eight hundred.
SPEAKER_02It's been raining all day though.
SPEAKER_07So it's kind of a dreary day. Yeah. Dreary dreary dreary. Dreary dreary.
SPEAKER_04D-R-E-A-R-Y.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it's been raining all day. I'm pretty sure that's not how you're so.
SPEAKER_05I'll take one. Uh yeah, I have it in my crossword puzzles.
SPEAKER_02I'm glad that it is raining though. We need how we could possibly get.
SPEAKER_07We needed this. We really needed this. Yeah. I'll tell you what.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Let me go ahead and shout out somebody real quick. I think I told Thomas this a while ago. Let me shout out. Mr. Paycheck himself, Keith Tuchek. Sorry. I don't think. Yeah, I did. His son was winning stuff the other night on Monday. And he was like, Man, he's lucky. He's got he he he's lucky tonight. I I looked at his son and I said, Hey, who's gonna hit a home run tonight? And someone was like, Ah, the Braves. And I was like, Okay, well, what player? Like Mad Olson, who you thinking? That's who I was thinking, and he did, but I didn't put it in there. And Tuchek was like, Aussie abuses. And I was like, sold. Put it in, woke up the next morning, he hit a home run. I I mean, I was on my way to work and I sent him a snapshot. I said, you the goat. Or I was like, you the man or something like that. He he hit a home run and they got my count back up to about even where I started off with that day. Broke even. No, I was still down five bucks or four dollars and twenty cents, I think, from the day. So I mean, you know, not bad.
SPEAKER_07How much did you win? Five hundred thousand dollars. Oh, what were we doing? Broke even.
SPEAKER_02Broke even. We didn't do it shit. Honey, we didn't lose a house today. D y'all watched the Kentucky Derby?
SPEAKER_05I did. I was actually sitting in the fucking turkey blind and listening to the I oh go ahead. You can talk because I got a story. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_02I'm just I mean, it's impressive. Yeah. Which that horse was a closer. But he came back like I mean, he was six to one. He was 33 to 1. 23-1.
SPEAKER_0523 to 1. I knew I was pretty close from that. He was dead last.
SPEAKER_02I did bet on the one horse to win. I did too.
SPEAKER_05I I spread my shit out.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Well, he he got bumped out of the gate and he got off the rail really quick. If he would have stayed on the rail, he would have won it by a long shot. But he came back from a good distance too.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, but yeah, no, that was very impressive. And if I don't know if you know this or not, but the jockeys of Brothers. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05And it was the first female uh trainer to win the Kentucky Derby, too. Well, she was losing her mind. Oh, fuck yeah, it would have been too. Because I I think the jockey and trainer, each of them got like 680,000. I'm not sure. I'm sure they're gonna need though.
SPEAKER_02I think it was a five million dollar purse.
SPEAKER_00I'll touch it. Great now. You don't need it right now. You can talk for a little bit longer.
SPEAKER_07She bought me with mine, the look on your face.
SPEAKER_05He literally turned around and looked at me when I went, I'll take one and went. Okay. Literally shook your head, yes.
SPEAKER_06My bad guys. My head got a million places there. That's my fault. My fault.
SPEAKER_07I've been kind of all over the place.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. That's kind of slowed down for us at work a little bit, or just this past week.
SPEAKER_05But no, speaking of Kentucky. Kentucky Derby. Yep. I was setting in the blind and I was sitting on the hill where we had service at, and I was like, Did you just text our bartender?
SPEAKER_06No.
SPEAKER_03No. Anyway. I damn uh. I damn, uh, I uh Yeah.
SPEAKER_05At the very last second, I was like, I'm gonna bet on the horse. Golden Tempo. Yeah. The very last and I just like it, I did it. When I say very last second, I I just put two dollars on it, like just click, click, boom. And I was sitting there watching, I was like, holy shit. I was like, here we go.
SPEAKER_02Is it Golden Tempo?
SPEAKER_05Golden Tempo, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I know it's something tempo, but I don't remember what it was.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, the one horse, so uh the one that uh Ortiz, the other Ortiz was riding.
SPEAKER_02Renegade.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, Renegade, man. Because I told John, because John had pulled for that one and something, and I was like, dude, it's the favorite, it's not a bad horse, honestly. He's about to win. And one of, well, yeah, and and one of the Ortiz brothers is riding it. I was like, one of them's gonna win it. Like when I seen both of them were in it, I was like, one of them's gonna win it. And imagine having an Xacta on that. That would have been fucking stupid.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_05For sure. Oh man. It's just kind of turned into an interesting podcast tonight, I guess. So speaking of sitting in the blind. Thank you so much. Thank you so much. What do I owe you? Put them on my dad. No, but yeah, I was sitting in the blind, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Washing horses. No turkey?
SPEAKER_05Dude. There was uh I I jumped. There was two hands where me and you were sitting, yeah. Uh where they came out on camera or whatever, where they were picking around. There was two hens there that uh walked up and kind of ran them off, obviously. I knew I was going to, and then uh damn uh got to the tent because we had moved it up the road kinda, and got there and just sat down. Hell, I sat for about four hours. Didn't hear a fucking thing.
SPEAKER_07You sat for four hours.
SPEAKER_05All by yourself? All by myself.
SPEAKER_02Were you talking to yourself? No. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_07How fast was your leg moving?
SPEAKER_05I actually really I caught myself doing it a couple of times, but I stopped and you know, I mean, it really like I closed my eyes for a second, but I never fell asleep or anything. Hey baby. What are you doing over here?
SPEAKER_02Johnny killed a good one though.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, he fucking did.
SPEAKER_07No. No, but I bet he told me.
SPEAKER_06No, there's another one.
SPEAKER_05There's another stuff. Oh man, I was I was just sitting there just fucking hunting, and I hear I was like, motherfucker. And I knew it was close, and I was like, son of a bitch.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_05That was at all depressed. They were just on the other side of the road from me. I'm not depressed.
SPEAKER_02You look depressed.
SPEAKER_06Your whole demeanor is actually depressed because he thought he was gonna be able to go this weekend around here, but it's actually closed in here. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yep. So I was like, I I was I was like, you know what? I still got one more week to get it done. And then we got to look at last night, and that's a fucking lie.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So uh you don't need to go this weekend, you need to spend the weekend with your mother.
SPEAKER_05Oh, really? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Did I know that?
SPEAKER_07She probably don't have an excuse because she's gonna listen to this next week if you don't get her something for Mother's Day. I don't know if she listened to this. She's gonna listen to this and she's gonna be like, he even knew.
SPEAKER_05I'm gonna tell her to listen to it. I don't know if she does. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_05I know Michael does, but like So what are you getting her?
SPEAKER_07Whatever Shelby picks out and I put my name on. That's normally what I do. He's over there sending out a text now. Please help.
SPEAKER_02My sister's normally the one that helps me. I was like, I'll just front the money if you just, you know. Yeah. I like I'm not very thoughtful. Like, I don't I'm not a good gift giver. I'm not either.
SPEAKER_07I'm really not.
SPEAKER_05Me either. Like I'm the fucking worst.
SPEAKER_02If it was up to me, I just wouldn't give shit at all. But I'll give you some money or a gift card or something that's not very sentimental.
SPEAKER_05Like, here's 80 bucks. Go get your nails done. I mean, like one of those deals. Like that. In my opinion.
SPEAKER_02$80. Go get your nails done. Oh. Yeah, bro.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, buddy.
SPEAKER_02Golly.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. It'd be, yeah, just under. I mean, it could be a hundred bucks. Depending on where you go, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Thank God Kenley doesn't like to get her nails done all the time.
SPEAKER_06Bud, yeah. Yeah. Be grateful. Small blessings. Yeah. Lauren started figuring out how to do it on her own. Really?
SPEAKER_02I don't blame her if it costs that much.
SPEAKER_05Holy shit. It's not cheap, yeah. And then you go in there, you don't understand what the fuck they're saying.
SPEAKER_02Oh God.
SPEAKER_06Well, some of them, you know, you got your regular place. They get they're kind of nice.
SPEAKER_05I'm not saying that they're not nice. I'm just saying you don't know what you're they're saying because you don't speak their language.
SPEAKER_02I've always heard like somebody was telling me the other day, they're like, getting a pedicure, you're sleeping on it. I was like, I don't like people touching my feet. I feel like I'd kick somebody in their throat sleeping on it. I'd knock someone out. What do you mean? Sleeping on getting a pedicure.
SPEAKER_05Sleeping on oh, getting one done? Yeah, like sleeping on it. Like, you know, oh yeah, shading, total shade. Okay. Slank terms.
SPEAKER_06Every time I went with Lauren, they always were like, oh, let us do your hands because my fingernails are always look like shit. They're like, oh, I bet your toes are terrible. And I'm like, yeah, they are. But you're not fucking.
SPEAKER_05Dude, I'm my uh my feet are too ticklish to fucking let somebody else be doing that shit. Well that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_02I feel like I'd accidentally kick one in the face and I don't yeah, I don't need that. So anyway.
SPEAKER_06Crazy. Well, it just seems like a waste of money to me to let them especially my hands, like I'm just gonna get them dirtier the next day. Yeah. Not if you get them done every week.
SPEAKER_02The guy that told me he said once they take that cheese grater to your foot, it feels like you're walking on clouds afterwards.
SPEAKER_06Really? Really? I bet it I bet it does like I bet it probably does make your foot like feel like a new foot.
SPEAKER_05Dude, if I do that, I'm starting to sell pics of my feet.
SPEAKER_07Just say, hey, wait a minute. Hey, if they do away with all those calluses on your feet, does that mean my socks will last longer?
SPEAKER_05Maybe that's actually a really good question. Not a bad question at all.
SPEAKER_07Hold on, I might be sold on this idea. You know how much money I spend on socks? I don't even know.
SPEAKER_05Where the fuck can you even get your nails done here in town? There's a couple places. There's a couple places.
SPEAKER_06Isn't there one by uh where uh Sherman Williams is? Yes. There's that one and then one by co-op.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, the uh oh, there's one by co-op? Yeah, really?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's a kind of thing. It's in that new building. Is that Brian Vans? I don't know.
SPEAKER_06I don't know. What does your uh future wife do with her nails? Or you just never been with her? I've never been with her. She normally changes soon enough.
SPEAKER_05She she she normally she normally tries to go to Little Rock to get them done. She'll get them done here here.
SPEAKER_06Lauren doesn't like anybody here. So I mean if she does if she's gonna get somebody to do it, she's gonna go to Little Rock.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I mean like last second she'll have it done here, but normally she'll try to go to her normal person up in Little Rock somewhere. That's what she normally does. Like she'll just text Lady and be like, hey, when can I come in? Kind of thing.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. That's one of those things, you know, like uh whenever they like, why are you buying that? Like, why do you need that? Because I fucking want to. Like, why are you buying more shells? Yeah well, maybe not shells, like more than understand shells, but why you buy this new gun? Yeah, like you know, the little hunting toys or whatever it is. What are you gonna use that for? I don't know. It just it just it makes me feel yeah like it's gonna make my life easier, even though it might not.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06But in the field, maybe it will. In my head, yes. But so your your nails, your appearance be up in your head too, like you got that, let me have this. Like, which honestly they I mean they do for the most part, but you know.
SPEAKER_05I I will say I do like a girl who has her nails done.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, no, I want them, a girl that's gonna take care of herself. Right, yeah, exactly. I mean, they don't have to have their nails done to take care of themselves.
SPEAKER_05But I mean, like, you don't want them to fucking look nasty and shit. Dude, these conversations are all over the place. Yeah. Well, I mean I mean, well, it's just normal talk for us, but we're actually doing it on the podcast tonight. I guess there was that one week we did that was.
SPEAKER_07We were pretty well on subject on that one though, still. What's on subject? What's on subject?
SPEAKER_06We haven't been on subject for the past five weeks. What's you don't think? Maybe since y'all did the traveling podcast. Really? We've been floating there. Sweet. But I mean I like it. I love it.
SPEAKER_02I want some we're just talking.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Do you like to show feedback? We take we take constructive criticism or any kind of criticism. We really don't give a fuck.
SPEAKER_02Well, that's our thing. Whoever listens, give us a topic to talk about.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I mean, I've even asked that before and radio fucking silence.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_05And in our Instagram DMS.
SPEAKER_06Well, I really don't care. I actually enjoy just talking about it. No, I do too. I do too. But I mean, you know I mean, obviously, whenever like I've been slacking on topics because it's not duck season. Yeah. Like I'm not too much I like these months right now, it's something I try to stay like there obviously there's still some things I gotta do on the farm or whatever, you know, just clean up and shit like that. But right now, I try to think about it as little as possible, other than you know, like the business side of it, booking hunts and stuff right now and advertising. But just because for eight months, nine months, that's all I think about. Yeah, so it's like two. And right now I don't have to.
SPEAKER_05Oh, well, I heard something pretty cool happen.
SPEAKER_02I don't know if Trey's already told the story or not. Well, hold on. No, you got it. Of you flipping over the kayak? Yeah. Yeah, I want you to tell the story now. Yeah, yeah, you're back on here.
SPEAKER_07I didn't tell too much of it. It has been a while since you've been.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I guess I haven't been the past few weeks. Yeah, that was fun. Um well, so okay, backstory. So it's Kelly's Kelly's birthday that weekend. Yep. You know, we all went to open season that night.
SPEAKER_07And after the season.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah, after open season. Well, I tell Trey Adams. We did. Well, and hello it wasn't even that late, but yes, we did close it down. And I told Trey. I was like, hey, I was like, I'm going back to the house. Kenley's gone, I'm hanging out, whatever. And I get home and I think nothing about it, and I hear a ding on my phone, and I look up and Trey was like, I hope you're being serious because I'm in your driveway right now.
SPEAKER_03I was like, oh shit, okay, all right, hell yeah.
SPEAKER_05And sitting there in your PJs, like, yeah, fuck this. I'm about to go to bed, sleep this off. Yeah. No.
SPEAKER_02No. Well, hello. So Hello darkness, my old friend. So we get, or he, you know, we start hanging out, whatever. I've got a you know, screening back porch, which is nice. Hell, we sat out there all night.
SPEAKER_05I I did never seen it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Well, we sit out You didn't allow me to come into your house.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you went in there.
SPEAKER_05No, I did not.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I thought you did.
SPEAKER_05Maybe I didn't fucking not.
SPEAKER_02Maybe not.
SPEAKER_05We sat out in your driveway. Oh, that's right. Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_05Y'all hear it here first. Fuck Thomas.
SPEAKER_02Fuck Thomas. Anyways, I don't know, probably at about the two o'clock morning mark. We were like, hell, let's go fishing tomorrow. Kayaks, whatever. I was like, Oh hell, mom's got several kayaks, I'll just go get one of hers. Yeah. So, anyways.
SPEAKER_05I remember you had called me too.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Well, anyways, get out there.
SPEAKER_05God, I can't hit the broad side of a fucking barn today.
SPEAKER_02So I I got the most lightweight, flimsy fucking kayaks he's got and overloaded a little bit.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So I reached back to go get my uh my tackle box. Oh. No, my tackle box. Okay. I had my yeti backpack full of shit in it as well. And whenever I went to go get it, we rolled. Oh man. Yeah. Oh, it took it took an hour. And I still gotta buy a trade lunch or beers or something because he fished my damn fishing poles on the bottom of the pond. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07I was probably a good, what, 30 yards away from you. 20, 30, yeah. And like my he was to my back and I just heard. And I turned around. Like sounded like water splashing. Oh, he's caught one. I turned around and it's him flailing to get back up on his kayak. And by the time I paddled over to him, he'd worked his way up there and he was just laid over it. Oh my god. Uh I guess just hold on and I'll drag you back over there. Yeah. But yeah, both of his fishing pole were at the bottom. Luckily you can see to the bottom, but it's still like six, seven feet deep.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Are you a child now?
SPEAKER_02Anyway, yes. Oh, yeah. I see that. Yeah, yeah. I FaceTime my mother and I said, I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_07I didn't get him flipping, but like his paddle's still floating out there. I'm dragging him back and he goes to reach over the thing. Don't worry about that thing. It's floating. I'll come back and get in. Good God. I don't know. How did your tackle box not go under? That thing's heavy, by the way.
SPEAKER_02Um it's got points in it. Points.
SPEAKER_06It probably has air pockets from like plastic bags and points and points and points and it stays floating.
SPEAKER_07That's how fishing poles didn't fly.
SPEAKER_02The Yeti backpack floats as well. I do know that.
SPEAKER_07Yes, that's actually pretty dope.
SPEAKER_02Even though how heavy it is, yes, it does float. I was about to say, you had the waterproof one.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it was the Yeti the cooler back. Ice chest. Yeah. So you had that in the kayak along with your heavy tackle box. Yeah. And then you go to lean over.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Well, I didn't think I was leaning, but I reached back and I just got a little too far and I just felt the weight shift. I was like, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05But belly ain't as small as it used to be, is it? No, it's not. That's what I'm getting out of this. I was floating around.
SPEAKER_07I had the one plastic little tackle box and a turtle box, and that is the only thing with me. Yeah. I learned very quick. You pack light.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_05I bet you were playing just the best music all day, weren't you?
SPEAKER_07I actually didn't play music until like what the last last hour.
SPEAKER_05Oh hell. I was nice. I caught uh Sunday after I got back, me and Maddie went fishing over at Whitney's and I caught a fucking uh store. I was using a uh I was using a crankbait. Well uh it was caught a a hunter hybrid or a hybrid hunter or something that Kingfoot gave me. And somebody's hit the top of the water and I was like, oh, I'm fucking addicted. I was like, yes, but they hit a topwater bait, like something about it. I get him up there and shit and everything, and I'm like, yeah. I mean it wasn't like the biggest fish. I mean it's decent, but it was like, you know, about a pound or a pound and a half. And I was like, fuck yeah, man. And I get it up there and I'm sitting there, I get the first treble hook out, go to get the other one out. He flops. I say, and I didn't have my pliers on me or my knife or fucking anything else. Maddie was sitting in the ride because she was done. I was just on my last couple casts. And I'm just like, hey, uh, I need my pliers, my knife, just something, you know? And she's just like, What? I'm like, my pliers, my knife, please. She's like, okay. She couldn't find my knife, and I was like, fuck, where'd I put my knife? I was like, it's between the ice chest and the kennel. Well, she finds it, she brings it to me, and she's very smart. I'm very proud of this. It was open and she never closed it. That's good. That's good. That you know, as being a superstitious person, I'm glad she didn't closer.
SPEAKER_07She ran all the way to me, never closed it. That was good.
SPEAKER_03I didn't fucking think of it like that.
SPEAKER_05Anyways, she gets up there and it wasn't even bad at all, but I was just like freaking out because I had already tried to start pulling it out some because she was thinking so like she finally started walking. I said, Can you please hurry the f up? Like, but I mean, like, she's like, what is wrong with that? And I'm just sitting here going like this, holding the fish up parallel with my other hand, and I'm like, and she's like, oh, that's not bad. And I'm like, no, but I still don't like having a hook in my fucking finger. I mean, like, shit. She's and I pull, I barely, like, she gets up there and I just barely do this. Like, barely. It comes right out. She goes, Really? And I'm just like, hey, I'm sorry. Maybe I freaked out a little bit, you know. But I was just like, I've had bad experiences with treble treble hooks. So like I've had one like go through my thumb. Yeah. Yeah. It's Springer. Yeah. That's Yeah. Yeah, man. You know, they're just kind of a pain in the fucking ass. Honest to God. Like, I mean, they fucking are.
SPEAKER_06But I mean, I get it on the baits, the way they hit it, you basically gotta have it.
SPEAKER_07Oh, yeah, yeah. I don't know that I've ever hooked myself with a treble hook. Like, not like bad. Yeah, definitely. Thomas has hooked me before. Thomas has hooked you before.
SPEAKER_05Right in my fucking eye. You remember that? Or in my or in my fourth time?
SPEAKER_07I think we told him that story on this podcast, but on your backcast, you slapped him in the forehead.
SPEAKER_02No, you were in the boat. It wasn't that bad though. Weren't we all four?
SPEAKER_07No, it was just us three. Or was it just a little bit?
SPEAKER_06Was it the day that he got out of the boat in the reservoir?
SPEAKER_05No. No. Or was that just the three of us though?
SPEAKER_06It wasn't bad though.
SPEAKER_05No, it wasn't bad at all, but I'm just saying you fucking did it.
SPEAKER_07I don't know. There were too many of us in this Johnny boat. Magnet in my body.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_07But on his back cast it like hung if he hadn't had glasses on, but it hooked in his forehead. Was there? Were you? Yeah. I thought so.
SPEAKER_06I thought it was a reservoir. It was one of the reservoirs down there. I don't know. We did go to two different ones that day, yeah. It was remember that was the adventure when we started off with a flat tire in the first ten minutes. Oh fuck yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We fucking got there. Yeah. But we drove five miles with a fucking flat tire.
SPEAKER_07It wasn't five miles. It was like a mile and a half on gravel. On gravel. I didn't get out on the highway with it. And the tire may have came all the way off the rim and rolled into the Yeah, that's like that was like the week you just bought that Jeep that you bought.
SPEAKER_06Yes. Yeah. Yeah. I remember that. Yeah. You had a Jeep? Yeah. You don't remember the Jeep that he had, the last vehicle? The black Jeep?
SPEAKER_05The black Jeep. Nope.
SPEAKER_07Bro, you drink too much. How do you not remember that?
SPEAKER_02This is whenever you had your fucking jaw broke and I was riding you around in it one night. Oh, I believe you.
SPEAKER_05I just don't I don't fucking remember you ever having drinking out of a street. I mean, I remember your white Jeep.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_07Anyway, so I was at Bass Pro on uh Sunday and I saw they they have uh Thomas, they have a uh uh rod booth with me. No really to keep your rods afloat. They were like less than two bucks for three of them. I went, I'm gonna go ahead and grab those. So I mean I I I've I used them though, uh just because I was like, you know, I don't want to be in that situation.
SPEAKER_05Oh, yeah, I kind of remember that.
SPEAKER_07I mean, he only had it for like two years.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Year and a half.
SPEAKER_06All I remember from that day was we sat in the middle, basically. Oh, fuck, I do remember that. And I did nothing. I just drank.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Colton just hung out.
SPEAKER_06Because I mean, I was like, all right, there's three fucking poles going on. I ain't fucking had to do the next one.
SPEAKER_07Well, that was whenever we moved reservoirs and only had one boat. Oh, yeah, that's right. We had two boats before.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. That is, yeah, that is right.
SPEAKER_05We were all four together that day, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Remember because you got out and you stood in the fucking middle of the reservoir in a shallow spot.
SPEAKER_07Here's the fun part.
SPEAKER_05Uh yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02He's in the Jeep. I don't know how he doesn't remember it.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, well, dude, I was taking a lot of fucking drugs at that time to keep my fucking mouth. Legal drugs. Legal drugs. Legal drugs prescriptions prescriptions, yes. Um my ship was fucked up, guys. Like it's that shit still bothers me to this day. I mean, hell.
SPEAKER_07Anyway, that canoe that's at that reservoir. Yeah. Uh found out that it has been fully patched and is floatable by uh by uh uh little Ronnie.
SPEAKER_05Oh, really?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, and that was his paddle that I found. I gotta take that back to him. Okay. Um so we could go there.
SPEAKER_05I'd like to see you two motherfuckers in a canoe.
SPEAKER_07No, you and Colton are getting in a canoe. Me and Thomas are gonna jump in and jump. Why are you gonna do some shit like that?
SPEAKER_02Hey, uh, hey, I will tell you this. I've never been in a canoe just to let you know. I will tell you this. I just went and bought me a uh marine battery this weekend. Yes. So I got a hot battery and a troll motor.
SPEAKER_06I have a trolling motor.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Well, it's not like I'm gonna be fucking turkey hunting this weekend.
SPEAKER_06A good pawn jumper for like what you're talking about is like those little uh those little plastic braids, but they they look like little pontoon boats. Yeah, yeah. Those are really good pawn jumpers.
SPEAKER_07Like still lighting up, but you got a lot of stability to stand up and feel like I like using that kayak for a pond jumper just because like you can easily throw it around in the back of your head.
SPEAKER_06What is what's the joke here?
SPEAKER_07What what?
SPEAKER_06No joke. No, I feel like you had something.
SPEAKER_07You had something. You raised your hand. Like we're in middle school. What do you have to say, Jack?
SPEAKER_05I don't know. I did that yesterday morning in the fucking meeting, too, when I had something. And he looks over at me. She just goes.
SPEAKER_06Hey, at least you raise your hand. I just apparently speak out of turn.
SPEAKER_05I was just like, no, I was gonna say I've seen this thing for sale. I've seen one before. It's a little circle.
SPEAKER_06Oh nah.
SPEAKER_05You don't want that circle. It's a little bitty circle. I can fuck up some shit on that little circle button.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, but think about if you're trying to go in a straight line, how much like water that'd be pushing.
SPEAKER_07No, so I've seen those. The little one-man circle buttons.
SPEAKER_02This one had two seats. So listen, the it does 3,500 fucking nine dollars by your job.
SPEAKER_07It does technically have a front that is sloped. It's not just a round pot. So you put the troll motor on a specific side. There's a specific side that it goes on and it's actually got a slope.
SPEAKER_05Kind of dope. I was like, hey, that's in my price range, you know. I was like, oh, that's in my price range. Oh, yeah, fucking, you know.
SPEAKER_06But yeah, like Thomas just said, you could definitely buy your John boat for way less than that. Oh, yeah. Well, even those like well, hell, let's take kayaks, for instance. Yeah. You can buy John boats cheaper than some kayaks. Actually, a bunch of kayaks.
SPEAKER_02Like, there's some that are like it's it's become more like people do it more than a lot of things.
SPEAKER_06Well, but there's also 14-foot fucking kayaks.
SPEAKER_07You get a 14-foot kayak, and like the reason it's blown up, the reason I think that's blown up so big is because of all the kayak fishing tournaments. Yeah, so they're making money on it. So you have to be in a kayak, so they're trying to make them as much like a John boat as they can. Yeah, so that you're still qualifying for this tournament.
SPEAKER_06Or big enough to put enough gadgets on like huge turtle motors. Because they're they're running hummingbirds and I mean so narrow. Yeah, and they also got like uh the spotlock poles and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_07Mine is not that fancy. Mine I'm good on kayak. Mine costs like 200 bucks off Facebook Marketplace. It's actually a pretty decent kayak. Just bought a new paddle for it. I was talking to Colton about that. You can spend anywhere from$25 to like$200 and something dollars on a paddle. I was like, I just want like good middle of the road, like looks kind of cool. I'll say you this but I'll save you the pair for that. But I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I will say it was besides me flipping over, it was fun.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, you caught some fish too.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah, but I mean, like Trey said or has always said, like, whenever you hook on to a good one and it drags you around in it, yeah.
SPEAKER_05It's fun, it's cool. Yeah. That is that is pretty dope. I ain't gonna watch it. No, I mean it's fun.
SPEAKER_02You just gotta get, like I said, and mom even said, she's like, I told you to go get the one, you know, the other one. I was like, uh, well, I just threw this from the back of the truck. Because Trey picked it up and he's like, Holy shit, this is like I was like, Yeah, just like mine's pretty heavy, and we were looking at the width difference.
SPEAKER_07Like mine was not not quite twice as wide as that one you were in. But I mean, it's wide enough. Well, I mean, you witnessed it. I can I can swim up to the side of it and grab it. Still takes a little bit of trickery, but I can climb back in it out of the water and not flip over. Yeah. And not flip over. Shit. Not with me, boss. I mean, I I can stand up in it. It's not the most stable, but as long as you're not trying to move too much. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05No, man, I can swim up. What's gonna happen if you fall? That's why you're taking the kayak.
SPEAKER_02Mom's got a couple though that you set up in. Like it's got a seat that's raised and like you can actually stand up. Oh, it has like a seat in it?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, well, it's like a so that way whenever you're sitting, at least you feel like your knees are at appropriate seating instead of being all crunched up. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Gotcha, gotcha. I thought you just laid your feet down. So like straight legged.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that's what I thought. But these will at least raise you up so you can get a little bend.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, you're like this far. Yeah, you've got a good six-inch raise.
SPEAKER_05Pretty nice. Six inches?
SPEAKER_07Bro. Sud. Jeez. I did take my. Boy, oh boy. I'm a happy man today.
SPEAKER_05Kill him.
SPEAKER_00What the fuck? What?
SPEAKER_05Okay. On kayaks, have y'all ever seen those some bitches like on the like rapids and stuff, like going through it? Like, they're doing that shit in the kayak. For starters, yeah, I'm sure it looks badass, but fuck that. But you're talking about it. And are they straight legged in that?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. They are.
SPEAKER_06But you're also talking about kayaks that are like got sleeves, got like bodies around. Body sleeves, so water can't get in.
SPEAKER_05I'm sure, but I mean, like, that shit's crazy.
SPEAKER_07They have helmets on.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. I mean, shit.
SPEAKER_06That's I get it.
SPEAKER_05I'm just saying.
SPEAKER_06But I mean your average person's not going to go do that because they know techniques to like flip themselves back over and all kinds of stuff. Because they're basically trapped in that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06My my thing is basically they're wearing like a leg condom. They're trapped in the kayak.
SPEAKER_05So what happens whenever you flip over and there's a fucking rock underneath you that literally blunt force kills you. Don't matter what if it hits like right here.
SPEAKER_06It can, but that's the adrenaline rush they want. It's like going sky, like that's be like going skydiving. Way worse.
SPEAKER_07Why do people ride bulls? Yeah. People can dive on bullshit. I mean, that's a lot more dangerous than.
SPEAKER_05Did you ask this on this podcast yet?
SPEAKER_07Probably. I might have. You've asked me this question, and I told you my honest answer.
SPEAKER_05Well, me and Maddie were having this conversation one day coming back from Little Rock. I said, realistically, how long do you think I could stay on a bull? And she said, you couldn't. And I said, I think you're bullshitting me. She was like, Well, I've seen my cousins do it, and uh, you know, I don't think you could do it. And I'm like, okay. Fuck you for starters. You know, I think I can do it. I mean, how I mean, realistically, how long do you have to do that?
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Have you rode a mechanical bull? Yeah. Alright, so you know how they start you out and they're going one direction. Yeah. Whenever they start doing the funny business, how long do you stay on after that?
SPEAKER_05I mean, if I'm not drunk or if I'm drunk, I've only really I've only rode one.
SPEAKER_07Which state of mind do you plan on riding this bull in? Sober or drunk? Probably sober.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, but I've also I've rode them drunk and just had different outcomes.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, same here. Yeah. Like some outcomes I stayed on for.
SPEAKER_06How many seconds do you think after they're like, all right, we're not going forward and backwards anymore? We're gonna do a little bit of spin and roll. Yeah. How long do you think you stay on after that? I think I have a solid four to five seconds in me. Okay, you'd only last one second on a bull. You think? Maybe a second. Really? Yeah. That bull's gonna come straight out of the shoot. Here's my question.
SPEAKER_05You're gonna die. Man. I mean, no, I don't think so.
SPEAKER_07I'm gonna be the next JB movie. I've I've been on a lot of animals that had the idea to shut up. Butt you off. Fuck you. Go ahead. I'm trying to give you an honest answer.
SPEAKER_05Give me an answer.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_02Okay. You've got the balance of a two-year-old.
SPEAKER_05No way. Somebody just give me a damn answer.
SPEAKER_07No. Out the gate. Out the gate.
SPEAKER_05You will come off out the gate. You think you can stay on one four?
SPEAKER_06I think. So it's going to turn left or right, whichever way it's facing out of the gate, and it's going to give me one hop. One hop this time? One hop is going to send me flying. Flying.
SPEAKER_07Is he going to blow out the gate or is he going to spin? Oh.
SPEAKER_05See, that's the thing.
SPEAKER_06You don't know what to be prepared on that.
SPEAKER_05See, if he spins, you can stay on longer, I feel like. You think? I would actually go for the bucket.
SPEAKER_06I don't think you understand the force that I would go for the bucking more than the spin because once you get to the side of them, you're done. And they feel you on they but they go. They can feel you where you're at, and they just say, oh, okay, go time.
SPEAKER_07Is he gonna spin into your hand or out of your hand? Fuck if I know.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Sorry.
SPEAKER_02There's a reason why a lot of people don't fucking ride a bull.
SPEAKER_07There's there's a lot to think about.
SPEAKER_05I feel like I could I have a solid four seconds in my hand.
SPEAKER_06But you also got really you got really good bucking bulls that can read a rider and know exactly how to get rid of them. Like, well, JB Mooney had that trouble with that one bull forever and finally wrote it. Bushwhacker. Bushwhacker. Like there's bread bucket in it at his body. Yeah, there's bread bucking bulls that are really freaking good at it. They can read the rider and know how to get rid of them. And then there's bulls that are still learning that they're trying to figure out they're they're just doing all kinds of crazy shit. But they ain't really getting rid of them.
SPEAKER_02You couldn't stay on a damn calf for more than for four more seconds.
SPEAKER_05The fuck is that? How long do you think you could stay on one drink? Honestly.
SPEAKER_07You know I've ridden. Oh.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's yeah.
SPEAKER_06You would have to ask, but yeah, you would have to say, alright, well, what uh level of a bucking bull are we gonna talk about for him? Well, I mean, just like a grown man bucking bullshit.
SPEAKER_05Because he's not he's not a bull rider, he's more of a horse back rider and realistically on I feel like a bucking bronco would probably be harder than a bull. Bronx? No. No?
SPEAKER_06Do they they don't do the speed?
SPEAKER_07Depends on your level. I mean, yeah, but that's a lot of power.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, but I know.
SPEAKER_07And are you talking about saddle or bareback?
SPEAKER_05Bareback. Bareback? Yeah. Bareback on a on on a bull.
SPEAKER_00You know, that's that's gonna put a saddle on one.
SPEAKER_05Why did you oh you were talking about the bronchos? Bronx. Oh, yeah. Saddle.
SPEAKER_07Saddle?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, not bareback. Yeah, that's yeah.
SPEAKER_07Pretty easy. Yeah, I mean, yeah. I th I think anyway.
SPEAKER_06Isn't that just about like breaking a horse? Easy as all of it.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I mean, you've got one rein and I mean But when you get into the sports, like there's when you get into any rough stock sport, yeah, you can stay on. I mean, you could latch onto a bull with your heels and your both hands and stay on, but you're not gonna win anything. I mean, everything they're doing is for show. The hand up, right, your off hand can't touch them. And there's like with Bronx, like your set point, uh, first or second jump, like your feet still have to be out on their net. So that's why they only start pointing hand.
SPEAKER_06I did not know that. Okay. It's like it didn't work. I was always wondering, before you actually rode Bushwacker, didn't he actually ride him for the time, but his hand hit one ride? Uh possibly.
SPEAKER_07Possibly something. I mean, that's there's a lot to it. So, I mean, are you trying to do it? If you're gonna do this, are you doing it for the goal of doing it the correct way that you see it done, or are you going for the goal of just staying on? Staying the fuck on. Yeah, you might grab hold with both hands and latch on and just hang on for the ride. You'll last four, maybe. Yeah, bam.
SPEAKER_06Whenever you think, but whenever you think you're about to go, you better push yourself really far away from that.
SPEAKER_05I was about to say, Hey man, I ain't scared of that motherfucker. He don't hate shit. He would the Elvon say, he don't know what I got. The motherfucker better watch out. Yeah, get belly.
SPEAKER_06You won't even you won't even have time to know what he's got. Whenever he comes down on you with a foot, I hope those fucking rodeo clowns come in clutch for me in some situations.
SPEAKER_02In a video the other day talking about uh bull riding or whatever. I seen a video the other day of a bull hit one dude in the back of the head and it tore his scalpel.
SPEAKER_05Did you show that to me?
SPEAKER_02No. No, he just couldn't find it. We we were talking about it. I just seen it yesterday. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_06That's a lot of weight.
SPEAKER_02But like that hoof caught him in the back of the head and peeled his wig back.
SPEAKER_07I mean, so my brother rode all through high school, and his best friend all through high school actually went on to the PBR, wrote in the PBR and all that. But I remember going to one of their bull rides, and my brother's friend, he got pulled down over he got pulled down in the front over the top of the head, and whenever that boy came back up, it smacked it knocked every tooth in his head out, busted his jaw, his mouth was sewn shut for I don't even know how long.
SPEAKER_06I can't even imagine. That's the reason why most of them wear that like full-blown helmet, full-blown mat face mask. After that, he has worn. I mean, it's a hockey helmet.
SPEAKER_07Uh yeah, he's worn one ever since. Actually, he's done now. He trains horses now. Fucking hell, yeah, I bet. Um talk about some wear and tear on your body. Yeah. Yeah. Getting old quick.
SPEAKER_02It's a lot of quick jolts.
SPEAKER_06I mean, yeah. But if you're really good at it, you can make a lot of money. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05That motherfucker is sitting pretty million dollar bull rider. Or eight million, what are they calling that? Seven million million. Fuck you.
SPEAKER_03You know what? Hold my motherfucker.
SPEAKER_00That one's pretty good. I'm impressed by that. All right.
SPEAKER_06All right. Well, let's wrap this thing up. This ain't going nowhere good. We're talking about bull ride now. We started out with cereal. Ended up with uh we should have probably started with this because we do have something valid to talk about. Callpalooza is coming up very soon, and we want to see all of our listeners here at Call of Palooza because it is one of the our favorite events. Me and Jackson, probably because we help a lot with it and we had to take a lot of pride in it, but also it's a local thing for all of us here in Stuck Art. Um, and there's a lot of cool people that show up for it. Yeah, so more than us. I'm not saying y'all want to come see us, but there's a lot of other cool people here too.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, it's like it's like duck season in the middle of the summer. Yeah, kind of you get to see all the people that you want to see you in duck season.
SPEAKER_06A lot of really cool vendors. Not only you have to be a duck call collector, do not think that call plus is just for duck call collecting, no, it is a celebration of duck call making. Uh that way we can bring some people into the environment, but there will be a lot of other kinds of vendors, whether it be arts and crafts, you know, this t-shirt companies, uh uh Camo Retro be here with their old school stuff, and yeah, there's all kinds of stuff. Yeah, well, and your crappie jigs. Oh, yeah, yeah, Drew, yeah. If he carved another booth this year.
SPEAKER_07I don't know if he I know he did last year. Maybe carved decoys. Yeah, those were really pretty dope. I loved here.
SPEAKER_06And there's things for the ladies too.
SPEAKER_05Uh my wife's gonna have a booth, and then there's usually some other girls that have like earrings and stuff that are shaped like buttons and Grant McDougall's sister, but it's like the something pretty pig or peppa pig. No, that's a kid's show. Painted pig? I think it's painted pig sound. Yeah, I know it started with the pea. I was getting there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. But I mean, if you don't like any of that, you can still at least come out and have a beer. Oh, yeah. There's plenty of people to hang out with. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Duck hunting people to have conversation with. And there's good stories. So good beer. There's also gonna be uh great food. We're gonna have some more food trucks other than the flying duck tribute truck. We're gonna have other food trucks too here this year. And then we're also uh you have the crawfish supper on Saturday night, get a ticket for that. That's always a great time because it's mostly the vendors. It's kind of like the closing. Yeah, I mean, we don't I mean you do get a lot of visitors that still stay around for it, but it's like all the vendors are in there. Yeah. So it's kind of like a kind of a private dinner with all those guys. You can hang out with them, eat some crawfish and stuff. So yeah. Gangster. And there's dinner.
SPEAKER_07Crawfish supper sounds weird.
SPEAKER_06My bad. Did I say that? Yeah, you said supper. My bad. Crawfish dinner.
SPEAKER_05I uh supper, dinner, they're both the same. Same thing.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02He didn't say crawfish lunch.
SPEAKER_07I was just saying, you know.
SPEAKER_05It wasn't lunch.
SPEAKER_07It's not lunch. It's at like five o'clock. Oh no. Six o'clock.
SPEAKER_02At least you didn't say lunch. Supper and dinner, they go hand in hand. Oh, we got something for crawfish breakfast.
SPEAKER_05We're gonna have crawfish breakfast. Well I'm good on that.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. And if y'all heard it on the podcast, we've talked about the uh callmaker build-off and stuff. Like that's that's the really the bread and butter of it. Like watching those guys create what they create in a matter of four hours at a time. That's pretty freaking cool. So bam! Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_06Alright guys. Thank you all for loon listening into our mayhem again this week. We're just uh I think we're just I don't know, we're just enjoying kind of rolling through it and just just talking about whatever comes to mind. It's it's a it's a love. Well, I listen to a lot more. It's a lot more fun. I listen to a lot of podcasts, and they just kind of talk about whatever's on their mind. Yeah. And honestly, it's kind of enjoyable that you learn something in the process. Yeah. You know? Yeah. Something that you wouldn't think would be teachable.
SPEAKER_05Y'all learned at the very end of this podcast that I can at least write a bull four seconds with two.
SPEAKER_06I'm gonna say 0.75 seconds.
SPEAKER_02I don't even know if you get out of the Yeah, but anyway.
SPEAKER_07You took four seconds with me. I appreciate that. I mean, if we're gonna put money on it, I'll make sure you stay on.
SPEAKER_05You gotta sleep for glue.
SPEAKER_07You're gonna have to figure out how to get off though. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06You're gonna be dangling off the side. Come over here with a raging screen. Who wants to close this out with a toast?
SPEAKER_02I did one of the last time I was on here.
SPEAKER_07Well, it's been a while, buddy.
SPEAKER_05Here's the cowboys and Indians. Cheers.
SPEAKER_00Cheers. Cheers. So you'll my high. Make them burn, make them crack. Tell him that you said it's my goal. Get you a prince in the job. All it's still cut teachers, all it's got to be.
